Shise, i've been making Carbonara with cream for at least twenty years!!
Shall try it without next time.
Under rated vegie for sure
How about one of your dinners Jeff ??
In the meantime a very nice bit of pulled beef with me salad tonight ,, notice no potatoes , bread or rice on board
![]()
Is it called pulled beef because you pulled it off next doors dog ?![]()
^
thats a bit ruff Dilbert for this time of night
I must say I like your idea of throwing fruit in your salads. I shall try that
Zucchini, or courgettes are often dismissed, dunno why.
I lived in a house where there was an old allotment, and the sole survivors were several plants (?) and they grew faster than we could eat them. Great for everything easy to cook. Love 'em. Added to stews they tend to disintergrate but act as a natrual thickener with subtle flavou
Lamb shank is well done, as I like it
Pulled pork and beef has become a fad in the UK over the last couple of years, good stuiff, man.
What's the cake in that bowl? Pumpkin pie?
Can't find that easily here in England. Fat fuckers don't know what they're missing

Almost there
I finished the lot. Lovely.
2 oranges & a kiwi for dessert
Can kippers be bought in Thailand?
Never seen them for sale fresh anywhere, only in tins at supermarkets. A long time ago Foodland had smoked fish that was cryovaced in the deli section (I use to buy their Trout and Cod sometimes) and I think they had Kippers too. But that line of products hasn't been available for a long time now.
And to wade in to the Zucchini debate; Steamed or simmered till they're just tender then well seasoned, they're an tasty and healthy side veggie. Cooked to the point of being mush, not so much...
Slice the courgettes, toss in seasoned flour. Then fry until golden. The outside is slightly crispy and the inside just cooked.
Suprised Pat you of all people havent got a Thai rice cooker ?
I love mine ,, I'm on me second one now its an Hitachi cannot see a model number on it , but its called a fuzzy rice cooker ,, superb menu on it in English + Thai
I use the rapid cook , will do sticky rice , congee for breakfast , and dim sum dumplings etc a cracking bit of kit .
They come in 2 colours ,, sexy black which I really wanted which was on the shelf beside me however I noticed some orrible dark red ones about 4 shelves up above me , and the gorgeous young lady with a black micro skirt on serving me ,said it would be no problem to scale up the ladder in front of me to reach a red one
so I came home with a red one![]()
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs![]()
Why a Thai rice cooker? That one does exactly the same job.
I'm in England, remember!
A National (Panasonic) imported can be bought in London's Chinatown, for £45.
That one cost me £19
Well in my experience I had a UK style rice cooker before which used to make the rice kinda mushy + wet never seemed to do perfect rice , kinda light + dryish + fluffy , thats the only way I can eat it , and the bit of kit I have does it perfectly .
Just my experience with my old cooker , my Thai one cost me £45 and just went in my hard suitcase , mind you its used everyday by the other half so we have had our use out of it
Took me a while to get it right, Thai jasmine rice comes out mushy, tried many times. always preferred basmati anyhow. I found that it's best if you put one cup rice to 1 3/4 cups water rather than two cups. Believe it or not that small amount makes a difference.
Can get adventurous and add garlic salt instead of regular
Add a few crushed cardoman seeds for the indian taste or a few whole cloves, or both.....also tumeric will make it yellow (pilau rice)
Bought some really good basmati rice in Aldi last week , good price it was to ,, the wife really likes this now , which is going to save me a fortune from the very expensive overpriced Thai jasmine , IMO the basmati cooks beautifully in the cooker and is as light + fluffy as you can get it
Got a good sized squash in there to last week 59p it was , going to have a go at making a decent squash soup for my Sunday dinner this weekend
Wife wont go near Basmati...It's from India!
Just as well mate ^ you dont have to pay UK rice prices
