England to bat for 25 minutes or so.

    3 wickets would be nice

Christ after spending the last few days drinking only Belgian and German beers the thought of Australian's talking up their beer is just hysterical.

Mind you.... making it cold is quite an achievement, at least it's harder to taste.

    Amazing fact:

Australia's series average score for the first 5 wickets.....

    5/141 !!!!!!

A lot worse..... what is your point?

Mine is to provide a very interesting stat that I bet you wouldn't have guessed and to highlight just how well the lower middle order / tail (particularly Haddin, Smith and Johnson) has played.

After all it's not a stat you would expect to hear about a team 4-0 up in a test series.

Typical Australian, look at everything as a criticism, jeez, your inferiority complex is just awful..... seek help man!

As soon as we started bowling around the wicket to him, he has struggled to make a run and has looked awful. He was actually out 3 times in as many overs today

Bit the same as England in the last series where Bell and the tail won matches. Bob and Betty were bragging that even though their top order played crap, they were still good enough to beat us 3 - 0 . I suppose if we win this series 5-0 with our top order not playing well, we will have even more to brag about

Mind you, I think Warner has averaged 60'ish.

^ I'm waiting for the 5-0 result before I look back in the thread and repost some embarrassing pre match predictions by Betty, Daveboy ( where are you Dave?? ) and co.

I do remember you predicting Johnson to get 25+ wickets and man of the series, but I'm sure I can dig up some dirt on you too

Our top order batting averages are not all that bad, with most of them averaging high in the series so far.., but yes, Haddin has been great..

Not sure I said that Haddin shouldn't be picked. I remember saying he was picked more for his experience though. Wade deserved to be dropped, and we do have a couple more good keepers who can bat too. Who could have predicted he would have such a brilliant series though. I guess being in a happy dressing room with a winning side brings out the best in players. There are rumours he may retire after this series too - so perhaps that has cleared his mind and brought out the best in him. Anyway, like LT, I'm quite happy to eat my words of criticism towards him.

    I'm going back to bed.
Luck I gave you the blanket back, eh Betty

    Was thinking the same thing.

I remember the umpires coming down on Ponting pretty hard for the same thing.

Indeed, not only the emotional pain of this series, but it's very cold here.

I'm off to watch some classic cricket; our current mob are not doing the nation(s) justice.

Now, it has really only been Haddin and Johnson who have made the difference, like Bell did for us in the last series. The Aussies have been average. You lot are gonna get an unpleasant shock when you play the Sappers...

They are just that, he has clearly said he will be continuing to at least the World Cup.
