Kallis was Glenn McGrath's bunny with him not being able to handle his pace, accuracy and bounce.

Then again around the same time the English batsman were McGrath's bunnies also so it would not have mattered if England had pinched him.

A great all-round player none-the-less and cricket will not be the same without him.

X-rays confirm Brett Lee broke TV personality Piers Morgan's rib in bodyline style ov

PIERS Morgan has received the ultimate confirmation of Brett Lee's power - an X-ray of his broken rib.

The TV host faced Lee in the nets at the MCG last Friday after taking the bait from the former Australian quick on Twitter.

But the six-ball session has left a lasting and painful impression on Morgan, who received his scans on Tuesday night.

BREAKING (literally!) NEWS: Fractured rib confirmed by X-ray...thanks again @BrettLee_58 > pic.twitter.com/A6gwBjlAgv— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 31, 2013
"Just went to a Sydney medical centre to have injuries inspected," Morgan tweeted.

"'Ah, Mr Morgan,' said the doctor, 'Brett Lee, I presume'."

Morgan later tweeted a photo of the X-ray: "BREAKING (literally!) NEWS: Fractured rib confirmed by X-ray...thanks again @BrettLee_58."

Lee was also in the firing line from New Zealand Test great Richard Hadlee, who said he was "appalled and outraged" at Lee's "stupidity and misjudgement" in bowling at Morgan's body.

LEE COULD HAVE KILLED MORGAN: HADLEE

True, but he was supposed to face some balls he could hit, not stand there as a target for a has-been . . . I also think Lee went too far and should be smacked in the gob

Morgan is a wanker, desrved that and more.

But, it was a one-sided assault. Cowardly by the bowler.

Now, is this cricket lark over yet? Can we get back to the darts or snooker or something else...

West Indies bowlers must be shit.....

New Zealand batsman Corey Anderson has set a new world record for the fastest century in one-day international cricket, blasting a ton off 36 balls against the West Indies in Queenstown.
The 23-year-old left-hander, who has played six ODIs for the Black Caps, smashed 14 sixes and six fours in a blistering 131 not out, breaking the previous record of 37 deliveries set by Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi against Sri Lanka in Nairobi in 1996.
He peeled off his 12th six of his innings off spinner Nikita Miller in the 18th over at the small Queenstown ground to reach three figures.

The West Indies lead the five-match series 1-0 after a two-wicket win at Eden Park on Boxing Day.

Anderson, who batted at No.5, upstaged New Zealand opener Jesse Ryder, who blasted 104 from 51 deliveries, clearing the boundary 12 times while also hitting five fours.
They combined for an astonishing 191-run partnership from 12.3 overs as New Zealand reached 4-283 from their alloted 21 overs after they were sent in to bat in the rain-affected game in Queenstown.

Ashes: Mitchell Johnson criticises England batsmen's 'tactics'

Australian bowler Mitchell Johnson has accused England batsmen of deliberately backing away before the ball is bowled to unsettle the Australian pacemen.

Johnson, 32, got into a row with Kevin Pietersen in the fourth Ashes Test when the 33-year-old stepped away from the crease during his run up.

"That's how they play the game and have always played the game," said Johnson.

"I don't think they'll change. It is frustrating when it happens all the time, but it's part of their tactics."

The fifth and final Test starts on Thursday at 23:30 GMT at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Batsmen do have the right to stand away from the wicket before a ball is bowled if they are distracted by movement in the crowd.

But Johnson, who threw the ball towards Pietersen before exchanging heated words after the England batsman stepped away, believes the tourists take it too far.

"The only thing I regret is throwing the ball," Johnson said. "That was probably a little bit inappropriate but the rest of it was fine.

"It hasn't really bothered us throughout the whole series, but I just thought it was time to let him know that it was inappropriate and he needed to stop doing it.

"The sight screens are big enough, he should be watching the game. I won't back down if it happens again."

I faced an over from Lillee once.
Protected my wicket and hit him for a four.
Only cane leg pads, no gloves or helmet.

admittedly I was in grade 5 and the boundary on the school pitch was pretty short. But I thought he was giving it his best off the long run up at the time.

Yes. Not successfully, but with all the pads and helmet I'd like the opportunity to face a top sportsman, of course. Most folks on this trhead would, I presume.

Yep, if Lee was any good, he would have knocked his poles over with every ball.

That would have made a much bigger statement than bowling bodyline to a complete muppet
