Lamb chops medium-rare, mash spud w/ spring onion, and sprouts (which are not everyone's favourite, but we like them). Splashed with mint sauce post-pic.
How long did you cook your chops, i like mine medium? Did you just fry them?
I have some, which i thought to marinade in a bit of olive oil, garlic etc. In a bag, and leave them for a couple of hours.
Massaging them, occasionally.
To make them rather tender. The lamb i buy, at great cost, in Swissland is tough as shoe leather if you don't marinade it. Then you bin it and live on beans for the rest of the month...

^Patsy that's no good to hear you're paying top-odds for lamb, and end up binning it before saying Grace over a tin of beans!. If the lamb (or anything else in life) is really good you don't mind paying, but...
The chops I buy are Australian, not sure of the price per kg but they're not expensive, about 400 or 500 Baht gets half a dozen the size of those in the pic above which are roughly 3/4 of an inch thick. My method for medium-rare cooking is bringing them up to room temp, then into a red-hot thick based skillet for about 2-3 minutes until they've caramelized, then flip them. When blood starts to form on the top of the chops, I flip them one more time for just a few seconds to burn that blood off, then they're taken off the heat and rested on a plate under lose tin-foil for about 10 mins. Perfect every time!.
The lady made Cuban sandwiches tonight. Black forest ham, pulled pork, salami, pickles, provolone and mustard and hand cut fries (chips). The sandwich is then grill pressed. I took a pic but it didnt turn out well.
Damn tasty though
Cooking isn't the only thing she does well.Originally Posted by Luigi

^ Paeng mak! about $8 - $10 in NZ (not that I need to tell Ant).
So about 30% more expensive than here.
Hmmm... Your attempted mocking of me might actually be on to something there!
Probably is something dumb like that. Even dumber is I don't eat the wasabi, throw it in the bin.
55 although I don't agree, I admit that's funny word-play there bro..Originally Posted by hallelujah

In 6 countries in SE Asia I've eaten durian. In each of these countries in SE Asia I've been told that "our durian is better than you've ever tasted."
It hasn't been. It's been much worse. Every fucking time- a taste that doesn't grow on you, but festers and mutates like that last turnip you threw out after Sunday dinner.
As a lover of cheese I have no issues with the smell, but the assault on the taste buds? It knocks you off your feet- and not in a good way.
Now pass me the dustbin for a go on the rotten veg and smelly fish.
I honestly can't remember if I have ever tasted Durian - if I love, or hate it...
better fruits out there 4 sure.. strawberries with icing sugar, watermelon, pineapples, grapes, plums, peaches, pears... yumm!
