Invitation to Kiwi Catholic Lady's for dinner. This is a crucifix to be reckoned with. I would be scared to walk past this without genuflecting.

Daily mass book. Yes, she does go every day!

    Dinner-20251220_212413-jpg

She likes her bubbly just like I do but surprisingly has no flutes and only one coupe, so I got a giant red wine glass full.

I like this picture to keep you on your toes and remind you of the souls burning in hell, where you will end up if you are not careful

Dinner was pasta with pesto, cheese and olives which was a carbolicious treat for me since I never buy pasta any more

^ Either that's very big veg, or you've started to roast pigeons?

But good to see so many sprouts.

My mum has aged a lot since I was last here and I seem to have taken over cooking duties, much to my and everyone else's dismay.

We generally have dinner at lunchtime.

    Slam in the lamb.

    Proper sausages casserole.

Very nice, that reminds me to make some mint sauce.

Those disposable roasting trays are massive and £1.50 from Aldi save on washing up!

Last trial roast before the big day...

    Dinner-20251223_195543-jpg

Everything was cooked for an hour and a half unfortunately the Sprouts didn't survive and ended up as black peas.
Fortunately one had survived inside the chicken and was roasted perfectly, naturally there were no takers so it ended up on my plate...

    Dinner-20251223_200134-jpg

    A very nice 9/10

^ I plan on roasting carrots and parsnips but recommend boiling/steaming the peas and sprouts!

I'm putting my Sprouts inside the Turkey!

Oh no I'm not, I'm having roast beef!

That last Turkey dinner at Spooooons put me off Turkey for life.

Carrots and parsnips of a similar size roast in the same duration.

The key is the roast it potatoes!!

Maris Piper are the best for roasting apparently.

Exhausted after cooking this from scratch. The bread was a delight.

A return to 'regular' food today, from a batch in the freezer, Vietnamese minced pork meatballs in a srirach laced tomato sauce on a bed of steamed Jasmine rice.

An easy way to boost your protein, should you ever choose to forsake the Batchelor's Tomato, I found is to make homemade cup-a-soup.

    Dinner-20251128_055624-jpg

1.5 scoops of pea-protein + 1/4 teaspoon of vegetable stock

Senorita rocked up with a bag full of Maccas tonight so I said a big festive 'fook it' to the exercise and protein and went all in on her McChicken with ice-coke. That is full cream coca cola with slush ice instead of ice cubes. Never had it before. Like a slushy. Have not have full fat coca cola in a long time. It is like drinking syrup!

    Dinner-20251228_213605-jpg

Then it was present unwrapping time for Senorita who always deserves a treat for being so unadulteratedly adorable

    Dinner-20251228_215723-jpg

Then a box of Roses with the Tabernacle Choir ringing in the good cheer.

    Dinner-20251228_221818-jpg

Those freaky Mormons really know how to throw down a rabble-rousing yuletide celebration.

Did you really give wooster sauce as gift (the bottle on the tray) and do you keep the key to her chastity belt on the stretchy thing around your wrist so it doesn't get lost?

    Looks nice Looper!

3 nights' dinner sorted with a meals-on-wheels run from Senorita

    Dinner-20260101_210243c-jpg

The spring rolls were made with her own fair hand at her home

The custard tarts and potato bake were smuggled out of the old peoples home

Tonight's dinner was Senorita's favourite, Tom Yam

    Dinner-20260101_220619-jpg

I started using raw prawns instead of cooked prawns. Much bigger and juicier and more al-dente. Cooked prawns are better for salads.

She keeps pestering me for the recipe but I am worried she will stop coming if I tell her how to make it

Go fishing while eating and drinking in the quiet peacefulness, if one wishes.

    Dinner-h3-jpg

2 fatties, 158thb was the announcement.

I presume you fish for free, or some ridiculously low price, and then pay to take home whatever you catch.

I happened to slice that onion very thinly with an extra sharp knife.
I cut it in two and sliced each half precisely 20 times each then rotated and diced.
You are focusing on a rogue slice and triggering me by implying my onions are chopped by Chan at the Chop Suey Cafe.

I'm offended and require a full retraction Cyrille!
