Now that the weather has turned and we are dug in for 6 months of frozen misery in Europe, I regularly do a big pot of pea and ham soup Dutch style - Erwtensoep (cos I aint no Brexit type) - and freeze the leftovers for the especially Baltic days and nights.
It's a stew really when all is said and done.
Onions, carrots, tatties, celery or celeriac, frozen mendys, split mendys, pork shoulder, smoked sausage, smoked ham, a tablespoon of mustard, mint, thyme, s and p to taste.
Easy peasy and no hairy wurzels are harmed in the making of this winter-warming pea speciality.
