Ohhhh. I live far from a pure healthy lifestyle, but I do make a point of eating well and know that eating highly processed food along with the lack of exercise will impact your immune system which is why you have posted a few times about being sick for numerous days. As a teacher you are constantly exposed to potential viruses so a good immune system I would think is important. Sure once in a while is fine but virtually all your posts in the dinner thread are from the places I mentioned so its not surprising you get sick easily.
And btw, I am far from a cranky old guy, I just call it like it is which you seem to take objection too.

I thought I was on dinner duty while Lao lady went about her flower arranging but then from the recesses of her hold-all she produced a vegetable and chicken stir fry that she had cooked at home before driving over.
I left the arranging to her this time since she wanted separate bowls after our shared plate was skating around on the tray last time
Bean shoots make a nice healthy change from naughty carbo-noodles for a balanced diet
I was noticing a lot of red birdseye chilli in the mix before my final microwave
And it was indeed a fiery beast that took no prisoners
Even Lao lady had tears and nose running by time she was done

for some reason thought a nice few splashes of lime juice would be a good addition. Hmmm. 50/50 on that result.
Also realized that a few dried chilis would be good, but alas only had ground chili powder.
Prolly 5 minutes from start to finish and nice n carbalicious after a light evening bike ride.

So what is it that makes chicken so bad?
Chicken is pretty much the only meat I eat. Not because I especially love it but just because it is the easiest meat to cook.
I like peas, sweetcorn and carrots.
But I like to see them in separate little piles of my plate, not all mixed up together. Peas and sweetcorn seem to be fine frozen but I always cook carrots from fresh, in big pieces.
Apparently snap-frozen vegetables can retain more vitamins than fresh... which gradually degrade over the time from picking to eating which can be several weeks.
I am no expert on this... but I do know that I couldn't satisfy my pea requirement if relying on fresh peas in Thailand.
Exactly this, fresh frozen retains the good stuff as far as I’m concerned.
@Looper, chicken sends my uric acid through the roof and gives me gout, which ultimately makes me allergic to it.
I eliminated chicken from my diet and I don’t get gout.
It’s only evil to me, don’t worry.
