Utter filth!
These guys ain't Egyptian, they're Kurds.
Great blokes, on first name terms with them.
I even told them my joke about Mr Fussy and Sadaam Hussain taking the kurds away, tbf I wish I hadn't.
Cars are their safe subject.
The owner drives his Merc to Kurdistan in 3 days, fvcking hardcore.
Shalom
More of a late night snack/comfort food than dinner.
Everyone's a fan of me BigBoy Wedges.
Parboiled to within an inch of their Lulu.
Cooled and deep fried in boiling hot oil. None of this Airfryer Toaster nonsense.
Teeny-Now-20 likes hers with some cheese.
I found a zip-bag of homemade Chili down the back of the deepfreeze from only Lulu knows how many years ago.
Damn fine eetin'
Get some Thai to sell that shiz outta some mobile cart going around the bar areas from 10pm-4am and you'd be fokin' Minty!
Damn reasonable Lul!
Airfried chops and frozen fries with everyone's favourite baked beans.
Went all Mexican/American as well and chucked some Cayenne pepper on...

Looks good
Senorita brought Dubai chocolate as a bribe to get me to do her kitchen safety online learning module for her, since her English is a tad challenged
But I would do her homework for her even without a bribe since she is so adorable so I cooked her up a fix of a my finest Tom Yam
She gets all the prawns for being such a champ
It took me half an hour to do her 20 minute training module. It was quite interesting. I learned a lot about cooking temperatures and handling safety.

Just spent the past weekend in Pattaya, though for funeral attendance rather than recreational purposes. Lived here 18 years, and only the second time I've been to Pattaya, the previous occasion being a veterans event some 8 years ago, and like now, flew in on a Friday afternoon and returned the Sunday morning. Being unfamiliar with Pattaya, a friend of mine recommended a particular hotel which turned out to be full. There was going to be a social gathering at the Corner Bar Soi 6 on the Saturday lunchtime (funeral was at 1600 in a North Pattaya Wat), so booked at the Queen Vic, which is bang in the middle of Soi 6.
Friday evening I got a Bolt to a bar on 13/2 owned by a fellow former RM, and had a few beers with him. Decided to walk along beach road and have dinner anywhere that looked inviting. Turned out I was tempted by the Hard Rock Cafe, which was OK. A salmon fillet, mashed potato and some veg worked.
Across the road next to the beach, there seemed to be quite a few people waiting for taxis.

We quite like the Hard Rock. Just got to make sure you get a room with a balcony as quite a few don't. Foods decent enough as well. We rarely venture too far out..
The diminutive Chinese tourist on the left looks like he might be biting off more than he can chew with big bertha and her sidekick.
That sounds pricey to me, but I could be out of touch. I used to aim for a pizza and a beer for under 500, but that was a few years ago.
With a budget of 1300 I might have been tempted by the cutie in the black dress with change for a maccas.

^^
A premium for the live music I guess, plus the VAT and service charge. A small San Miguel I remember was 200 baht, and the glass of wine over 400 baht.
Anyway, that was Friday night taken care of. On the Saturday, things went according to plan with the funeral, and some of us were back in the Corner Bar on Soi 6 for 1730 in time for a couple of beers before the election driven compulsory closing of alcohol sales at 1800. Some restaurants would still be open, but I needed somewhere that would be showing the Man United - Spurs match on TV. I was advised 'The Green Tree' on Beach Road at the end of Soi 1. Duly arrived there by Bolt, and not only ran into a friend of mine, but they were still serving beer albeit it large coffee mugs! The food was fairly nondescript (steak with pepper sauce, mash and veg), though watching United beat Spurs whilst enjoying a few beers made up for it.

Was someone talking about Bisto?
There's a great lemongrass shortage going on here the last few weeks. Big C, Tops and Lotus have all shown it as 'unavailable' on Grab delivery. Which makes me daily lemongrass and ginger tea quite one dimensional.
It showed up as available in one merchant called 'Go Wholesale' in half kilogram quantities.
In fact, kilograms seem to be the unit of measurement for Go Wholesale.
Which is why I now have one kilogram of gravy in my fridge.
I'm not sure that I need 1 KG of gravy, but if anybody wants some mash and gravy over the next 6 months or so, you're more than welcome to come round.
Dinner last night was artichoke pasta.
No pictures but this recipe:
Artichoke pasta recipe - BBC Food
Healthy, aroi and easy to make.
Grow some lemongrass in your garden and it'll probably be ready by the time you get through that lot.
It's also known to deter mozzies so just go for the whole perimeter.
It must be dead easy to grow, even the gardener can manage.

Got home late and no food in the fridge. "Mr. Steak" popped up on Grab and I decided to risk it.
It met my expectations.

You should have gone for the signature dish
Did the shredded cabbage go in the bin with the slice of toast?
If it was your first time you may be excused.
No repeats though.
I’m working midnight til noon so I’m not quite sure what actually meal this was but it was at midnight.
Some kind of beef schnitzel thing, some kind of fish, a fried egg.
But, you see that rice? That was mac n cheese but with rice and it was fantastic.
I managed to score another bowl of it at 6am.
