    ^

To take it to another level, add some dry cider to the stock, then after blending it smooth, crumble some blue cheese (Stilton recommended) into it.

    Bogon Tip #391

Take butter out of the fridge 10 minutes before soup is done.

Lucky I read the next page before saying the exact same, backed up with, either that or don't be cheap and put the heating on.

Have you seen the price of heating here nowadays. It'd be cheaper to eat out than heat butter.

I've got heartburn just reading that. I'm aiming for Naafi not Officers Mess quality nosh

Although the sun has come out now. I think I'll take your advice, go and buy a six pack of Bulmer, get the hammock that's been used less than my bike out and laze in the garden with the butter dish.

It will soon be July, sure the butter will soften a bit by then.

Here's the recipe that I use, titled 'Stilton Soup', though it's a leek and potato soup with stilton and cider added. Important, it's still cider, not carbonated. Stilton Soup with Parmesan Croutons | Recipes | Delia Online

One thing I have learned just. Stilton is fukking amazing. Blue cheese used to make me gag but this stuff is something else. I've used half the block in the soup and nearly finished the rest.

Looking at your uncultured haul of Red Leicester and Cathedral City your 'mates' dropped you off, you are missing out in a huge way

I wish I could let you suck my pinky finger right now

Wow. Thanks PAG, the soup tastes like vinegar but that cheese.. oooooooh

I'll just stick what's left in the butter dish.
It's a South facing house. Kitchen always in the shade and all that...

As for blending, I've looked everywhere and jut realised I don't even own a blender.

Oh well, there'd more of it now

i don't own a food processor. I decided it wasn't worth buying one and got one of those multi function food mandolins, fukin useless - a nightmare to clean and you risk removing your digits. I turns out it is worth buying a food processor

This is similar to the one I use, 3 different functions. View support for your Avance Collection Hand blender HR1647/00 | Philips

The one I have, around 1500 baht from Lazada, pretty handy for blending, whisking, and chopping of things like garlic and chillies, without having to use a full blown food processor.

Can't beat a big of hand held blender action!

Unfortunately my last one hasn't been replaced since the ex decided to mince up some offal with it.

    Talking of offal tonight's kebab..

Chunky soup works for me. Honestly considering how easy soup is to make I'm surprised folks dont make it more often.

^ Guessing the beans would have been pre-cooked and drained from a can.
