I find gochujang a bit sweet for my liking
^ Nice one Pag.
Those paper plates have lasted well
Which is almost half the amount of sugar in the UK one compared to the US:
US Heinz beans have a significantly higher sugar content, often containing 7g of sugar per serving, compared to British Heinz beans, which have a lower sugar content, around 4.3g per 100g (approximately 8.9g for a half-can). The difference is due to the US version being a sweet, meaty, molasses-based dish, while British beans are a tangy, savoury, vegetarian dish with more protein and fiber
There's a reason seppo bread is classed as cake in Europe mate.
Has anyone counted the sugar content in Ayam? Surely they must be higher than the yanks?
Wow.
Just.
Wow.
Gochujang is a great addition to a stew. We often add a bit to a wintry beep stew.
This is sweet, but not in the sickly sweet way that can take over some dishes in Korea (and much cooking in E/SE Asia):
Korean Spicy Pork Stir Fry (Jeyuk Bokkeum) - Chef Chris Cho
Mrs Toot does a roasted red chili, onion and garlic paste that is more to my liking, as you say adds depth and background heat and colour. She uses 2/3rds large dried and 1/3rd Thai finger chilis and roasts and cooks it all up with some oil. I keep it in the fridge and it lasts ages if you add a layer of oil on top in the jar
Faark. I've gone right of the idea now gonna stick to sex drugs and sausage rolls..and Lager.
Unless some other fuckers got a better suggestion? Way to much conflicting advice but I would say pags advice would be entirely credible
Welcome back PAG the best chef on the forum
Americans do not eat those beans, you clown. We also do not have a standardized set of foods we all eat like you lot seem to. You should have learned that in your travels here but you spent all your time in fucking Dennys. One of the worst chain restaurants in American history.
You can take a chav out of the council house, but you can not take the council house out of the chav.

Speaking of burgers, this morning was time for our largish shop at Makro. There are several branches in Phuket, though M'Sahib prefers the one in Phuket Town. A bonus is that it's not too far from a decent eatery, Ali's BBQ in Kathu. Again, there are a couple of other branches of this place (Rawai and Chalong), though this is the best. Apparently owned by an Iranian family, they've got their act together in terms of product quality, customer service, and pricing.
Today I had a Greek salad, along with a burger. M'Sahib opted for a salmon steak and a side salad. Another bonus is that they have well kept Heineken draught.
Being Sunday, we opted for some desserts, M'Sahib going for some chocolate cake, my was a tub of vanilla ice cream with mango and cashew nuts.
3 pints of Heineken were enough for me, though I did think the small wine list deserved some consideration, again well priced.

Was the salmon dry? Otherwise looks like a great meal.
^^ Those wine prices are incredibly low for a resto over here
I mean, you're literally famous around the world for eating hamburgers and fast food.
Apart from maybe Italians and pasta, it's probably the most obvious choice for a nation associated with one food and there are multiple jokes about it wherever you look.
Classic own goal there, snubs.
