Looks fine, Kallio means rock I have a friend there called Mustakallio ,ironically Blackrock/Brymmawr etc. I enjoyed my time in Finland until the sun vanished in November.Do you get no sun days in Riga?.

As for Finnish food you did well though I have been spoiled by years of Italian/French/Basque cuisine for subtle flavours, for more zing I am always happy with Thai, tandoori or my favourite the subtle spicing of S Indian Tamil Nadu Kerala and Sri lanka.

I haven't been able to stomach food since Monday afternoon.

Just curled up in bed, with a sickening ulcer-ish knife in stomach due to stress and worry about a possible life changing event.

3 days now, and I wanted soup.

Not some thai crap. Not some Campbells in a can.

Grab had this 'Artisan' bread and soup place. A veggie place. But I don't think my stomach could take meat now anyway so went all flowery and ordered up their 3 available soups, 300g each.

    French Onion.
    Pumpkin Cream.
    And broccoli cream.

2 fresh sour dough 'artisan' rolls.

Broke out the French Onion as I presume the others will reheat better.

Well curl me mustache and call me Pierre.

    Bladdy lovely that was.

Something like 350b delivered, and all made fresh.

Rex I'll be living off this place for the next while.

Then just ordering their bread for bacon butties when back to me Lulu'ing self.

There is a bonus of not being able to eat for 3 days, fudgin' 'eck does the weight just fly off! I'm like Conor McGregor weighing in to fight Jose Aldo.

Quite a busy morning, an annual service on my car to prepare for a Kanchanaburi road trip this weekend, followed by a 90 day report at Phuket Immigration. A couple more errands in Phuket Town, all whilst torrential rain falling. Nothing sooths the spirit better than their mixed fruit salad from We Cafe near my home.

A bit like Jenga, so free entertainment thrown in with the fruit. Worth it though.

    New fave artisan resto delivery.

I feel no shame in only being able to eat half that.

A fancy lunch yesterday (35 Euros for 3 courses). Not too keen on venison but the zander (fish) was nice.

Do you think she'd be able to wear one of Mendy's meals?

There'd probably be less hair in it.

Edit, now that you've changed all the pics around this is the plate and food that could be a Cheltenham headdress.

Damn good spread for 35 yoyos.

That was tasty as well (and I don't normally like beetroot).

It was 35 Euros cos the restaurants do special offers for restaurant week.

I'd go back, but there are loads of good places in the old town anyway, and you're still shelling out 7 or 8 Euros a pint in that area, so it's not a regular thing.

Between 2 and 5pm on weekdays Spoons are selling all classic pub dishes with a drink for £7,77.

Rude not to at that price!

You couldn't buy a cod and cook it yourself for that price.

    Lunch ... the second course-20251111_143904-jpg

Large chunky cod flakes, cooked in the oven and not deep fried.

Get an alcoholic drink with it for £10.91

Opt for a 660ml bottle of Elvis juice for the best pound for pound accompanying bevy (£5.05 on its own and 6.5%)
