The bread was nicely toasted, so I doubt it would have gotten soggy, I think it was more of a presentation thing to make it look like there was more stuff in the middle than there was stuff in the middle.
Wild Boar and Chorizo washed it down with a couple of pints of London Pride

A wet and almost wintery day here in Phuket (well, apart from being 28C). A warming bowl of homemade tomato and basil soup, with a side of a tuna mayo and tomato sandwich (homemade bread and mayo naturally....).
Sorry, but the cover of Sir David Attenborough's Sahara DVD looked less dry that pic.
