Three moans.

Been feeling a bit sick, normally would ride it out, but supposed to be flying out today for a week long business trip so decided I'd better go to the Doc for some meds to speed up the healing process.

a) drove to the first, and nearest supposedly best hospital...carpark was chockas. Pharked if I'm waiting 3-4 hours to see a doc for some antibiotics (moan 1). I didn't even park the car or stop, just around and straight back outta there.

b) found another slightly more local hospital, no wait which was good, a little messing around with needing to show insurance cards and fill in this form and get that slip etc etc. But overall time was minimal and the doc was efficient and good. She insisted on a blood test and a Covid test. (ugggh).

The nurse that did my blood test didn't exactly wait long enough or bandage my arm properly as I ended up bleeding through my shirt 10 minutes later (second moan).




c) Results of tests will be available in about an hour, so I was able to leave, get back to work. About 15:00 teh doc rings me while i'm still in a meeting and says where are you, you're supposed to be back here, you've tested posistive for covid. Phaaark. Bed rest for 5 days and cancel the trip. No one wants me on a plane or in meetings all day long coughing covid all over them. (moan 3, but also a little bit of cheer because i didnt really want to do away again so soon.

Nowadays people use profanity all of the time now. It has become normal and can be used with affection.

My parents were stunned any time I used the word fuck around them even as an adult. They complained about it being used in movies and on tv. They never accepted that it is common language.

Thinking back, I only heard my father say mother fucker one time in my life and I was stunned. And, it was something I had done to make him say it!

I am honestly surprised here. Anyone who thinks Mendip is anything but a deeply devoted and attentive father who is clearly loved by his daughter has not been paying attention.

The REAL problem in being a parent is you only find out if you did a good job or a bad job is when they start to get into their 20s.

Thank you, at home, fortunately. I must have picked this up in UK and spread it on the flight home.
