This fooker must have weighed about 8 kg. It's head was the size of a cricket ball and was dwarfed by the rest of it.

Thanks for reposting, d48! That rock pic was taken near Barracuda Lake, a brackish water lake in an island off the coast of Coron, Palawan.

Yes indeed Katie.
It was one gigantic lazy fat fooker.
When I stroked its head it made the effort to o open one eye and let out the faintest miaow before drifting back into whatever cats dream about.
Yes, I remember that was your old hotel building stomping ground Simon (the Donald Trump of Nai Yang!). The airport has changed completely. Looks like a real airport now!
It was the fastest international arrival I have ever experienced at any destination in the world. From being inside the aircraft (first person off), to clearing immigration (first in the queue), getting 20K out of the cash machine, collecting my bag (first bag to emerge on the belt), then clearing customs, getting out the door and being greeted by the hotel geezer and into the car was literally less than 15 minutes.
The only drawback being that in my bleary haste I left my cashcard in the machine. Luckily I have 2 banks and was able to block the lost card using the app on my phone so no drama.
it was nice day in Oz so went for a drive outback
the emus came down to have a look at us
Went into town, went to the toilets in the old town hall - so I pointed percy at the porcelain adamantly as instructed
Sat by the river in the winter sun - it was lovely

Health & Safety did seem a bit lacking.
Still, in our 20 minute time-slot there was only one blood nose, one broken elbow and three stabbings.
