Ok, I've about beaten this one to death. Please don't crucify me. It is one hell of a church though. I was looking to get up in the bell tower but the way was locked as was the entry to the upper elevations. They may open it up for mass. I was lucky enough to have the place to myself for a bit. Cheers, fish.
There are a few backwaters around the world where they have and allways will worship the Alla Doveidson.
Holiday at my cousin's place. He has a nice life. Going back there later this year for a wedding.
Currently in Brasov, Romania. Testing to see how easy it is to upload from the tablet. My hotel has a good view for around 30 Euro a night.![]()

^maligayang pagdating sa Pilipinas, Neo. Have you brushed up on karaoke singing and are you prepared to eat balut?
Rainy season has started - had some rains the past 2 afternoons. Cheers & enjoy your stay - hope her family treats you well.![]()
Its been great thanks Katie.. but very humid. No need for balut, I've had lobster, mussels, fish, chicken and lots of pork of course![]()
We're at Balangas port now waiting to get the ferry over to Manila for a couple of days and visit the embassy for my affidavit![]()

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
My welcome breakfast yesterday![]()
^affidavit of being single? Hehe... ticking off the list of requirements slowly![]()
Batangas port? You're just a stone's throw away from Davis and a loud holler away from me. You still owe me several coffees...
Enjoy your stay - if you need places to visit in/ near the Manila area, just ask. I've visited several waterfalls in the past 2 months. Cheers!
Balangas.. in Bataan. Across the gulf from Manila, but i like your thinking![]()
Haha.. she was holding my hand at the time
Cheers, June 11 is the big day...![]()
^oops, misread that. Balangas is not Batangas. *shucks* speaking of Bataan, there are WW2 sites there - Fall of Bataan, April 9 - when American (and Filipino) forces surrendered to the Japanese.
There's also a Corregidor Island tour from Manila (port is near Mall of Asia) - it's a 1-day tour, lots of WW2 stuff if you like history. Tour package includes a buffet lunch. I made a pic thread of it, but pics are gone now due to Photobucket purge. You can book the tour online & pick up the ticket at the port.
Edit - June 11? How significant. June 12 is independence day here and a national holiday - but the end of yours.
congrats & best wishes!![]()
Yeah its a good call for June 11 cos nobody has to go to work the next day.. we're expecting the revelry to go late into the night.
There's a memorial to US and Philippine servicemen near Balangas with a museum. I'm hoping to pick up a hire car when we get back from Manila and do some exploring of Bataan, the memorial is on the list.
Planning a trip up the west coat to see if theres any life out there beyond Subic with a stop off around Hundred Islands and then on to Bagio.
