PMY beach at Rayong is a load of rubbish
Polluted as hell due to numerous factories/chemical plants nearby. The city is drab as hell. Ban Phe is a tourist hellhole. Koh Samet is an overpriced garbage dump. And the Chinese....
Luckily the Casa V1 hotel in the centre of town was heavenly. Owned by a very talented graphic designer with penchant for baking cakes sold in the top hotels and Starbucks, the adjoining restaurant is a culinary miracle.
Oh, and the cakes are sold at 'wholesale' prices. 50 baht a slice with a choice of over 20 different ones.

Agreed DJ.
When we lived in Ban Chang we'd often visit the various beaches and they were all appalling.
Plastic is destroying the world.
Isn't that right Jeff?
Laem Chabang, too.
Basically the anus of the eastern seaboard...with an oil enema to deal with too.
I drove around there for ten days....based in Pattaya.
Freaktard posted about me staying in Pattaya over that week and a half for about 5 years.
Putting that aside, it was when I decided a base up north would be better.
Rayong is basically fucking vile.
Rayong itself can be forgiven as it's not really a tourist city. Central, Big C...the usual places. Night market was nothing new
It's when you hit the beaches nearby and you think "what the hell is this" especially when so many online (mostly Thais) say it's "sanook maak & suay"
Almost didn't get the boat at Ban Phe. The market stank of fish and the usual Pattaya rabble with their rented poontang and the backpacking mob really do live up to the stereotype.
Did talk with an ltalian guy who was travelling solo after fleeing a group of Kao San Road backpackers and giving Samet a miss. He instead decided to head to Klaeng ''just for the hell of it and an adventure"
Can't make the ridiculous excuse that it's low season!
Initially we'd.....no.....l'd booked a hotel a few miles along the coast towards Ban Phe. We checked in, paid, then swiftly checked out an hour later.
"Why, Pat?" I hear you ask...
Those photos will be posted very soon.

Are there any other men you've never met, but are spending your holiday evenings actively wondering about, or just us two?
Probably a BLT.
Hoof's better, slight blister on me left heel, since you asked.
No pain no gain.![]()

Nice Beach hotel, Rayong. I stupidly booked the place because of this:
1100 a night
The dream:
Taken from their website, including a picture of what I now suspect is a suicide
We entered a lobby so gloomy I wondered if it had been shut down. 990 Baht. Ok you get what you pay for, but this was pushing it a bit...
Not sure how the sink appeared on the balcony
Nasal or ear hair
Warm fridge, wifi broken
Outside Palmer, AK
last digs near the bush (3 nites) of Wow's vaca. b4 she heads to Issarn and I start working in Anchorage as a shifty car dealer.

The view from the flat where I'll be staying for the next 5 weeks. From my balcony I can see the northern grandstand of the football stadium and in the far distance an office tower shaped like a needle on a sewing machine - a nod to the textile industries in this region.

pues, estamos aqui
Bladdy 'eck that place is a shocker Pat.
Spent a few nights as a base at that same beach a few months ago, but 26 or so stories up. About the same price I think, booked as it had 180 degree view over the beach/sea.
https://www.booking.com/hotel/th/vip...s=1&#hotelTmpl
Was one of those VIP Condochain units. Around 70 sqm with bedroom, livingroom, kitchenette etc. 2 balconies with 180 degree view of the beach/sea.
Would recommend it if yer still looking.
67 sqm to be precise. Run by a bird on air bnb called Anastasia. According to reviews she has a habit of changing her mind on whatever is booked by those airbnbophiles who claim the company is the dogs bollocks.
Look for the trustpilot reviews of airbnb for the full story. It don't make for nice reading.
Pat, you sound like one of those cocks on Holidays from Hell who go round 2 star hotels with a magnifying glass.
What do you expect for 20 quid a fuckin night?
That's cheaper than your average short time room and you should be grateful that those ear hairs are not pubes
Horror Movie indeed

Could have been worse
The Uk equivalent would be a weekend in Port Talbot
Pat, are you sure you are not getting charged Farang prices for those rooms![]()
