Anyway, last night I was in the middle of making a pork chop with mash and veg meal, when I realised that I was just too tired for a proper meal and fancied something simple instead.

A Korat Chef chicken and ham pie with some repurposed pork gravy.



I'll have the pork chop tonight.

To be fair making a pork chop and mash is a pretty simple meal…

To be fair the wife had pre-made the mash for me... but I still had to boil up the veg, make the gravy and fry up the chop.

I just didn't fancy a heavy meal. If it turns out OK tonight who knows... it'll maybe make this thread.

You could just eat the pork chop without the mash for a lighter, protein only meal.


But where’s the apple sauce?

^^ My convection oven covers pretty much all my needs.

Last night I made a huge bowl of gravy with Bisto powder and the veg water. Tonight I will simmer it in the frying pan once the pork chop is fried up.

This ain't my first rodeo!

Though I doubt sipping yah dong out of a gravy boat will make much difference.

Mash is always a bit laborious.

IMHO You can't beat a pie, beans and chips for an occasional treat.

I was back to my typical wholesome food last night.

I paired the wife's mash with the pork chop, broccoli, cabbage, carrots and peas.

And some gravy... processed sadly (sorry Reg)...



I found some of these mushrooms in the fridge. I haven't seen them before but sliced a couple up to fry with the pork chop. A little rubbery but nice, nonetheless. That's five veg in one meal.

That apple sauce looks damn reasonable Mendy!

Although I would have opted for more gravy.

You've inspired me to create a pork Chop Sunday dinner tomorrow, hopefully it will sort my body out and flush out the remenants of this vicious lurgy.

Anything that comes out of your kitchen would instantly go straight to the best meal I've had onboard this vessel in the last 6 weeks.
