That is actually a vintage Panasonic DVD player with a built-in amplifier. She asked me to redo the speakers so they would get sound from her laptop but I had to break the sad news that this was a museum piece of redundant technology whose next stop would probably be the dumpster.

I don't actually recall ever seeing a DVD player with built in amplifier before. My DVD players always had a simple line-out that I sent to my amplifier.

It is not that old... they were sold as home theater systems, often with 5 speakers for surround sound.
Doesn't the amp/dvd have an Aux input? Doesn't the TV have an Audio output?

Is that a Dyson Animal in the corner?

Would be great for getting rid of any sign of Mendy after a night in

That could be an adjective, actually.

'Sorry if it's a bit Mendy in the back of the car'.

I should have checked for one. I will check next time.

I hooked the laptop to the TV with an HDMI so now the audio is coming out of the TV. TV sound is better than laptop but not as good as a sound system.

Some kind of funky vacuum. Probly Dyson. Looks industrial Mendy-grade, whatever it is.

Yes and the sound from the HDMI input is usually available as an audio output from the tv in two rca jacks which is the same type of connector that I guess the dvd/amp has as an aux input.

I did not know that. Could be handy maybe if the vintage DVD/Amplifier has RCA AUX in. I still have a bunch of RCA leads.

Sir Davo is the go to for a TV show to accompany dinner with a lady. Movies take too long and nature programmes always work for ladies with limited Engrish

This was episode 1 of A Perfect Planet: Volcanoes, with amazing footage of pink flamingo chicks at Lake Natron in Tanzania
