Funny, my Italian teacher never told me that. Then again, he batted for the other team, so he might never have seen a potato.
I am going to struggle ordering gnocchi from now on. Pussy on a plate, please.

    New potatoes, Thai style.

    Kind of like old potatoes.

This new pot of Tom Yam I knocked up last week is the bollix. Burny burny and hot sour. I add peas, kidney beans and prawns to the broth when make a bowl.

Senorita loves this stuff and is over like a whippet when I get my Tom Yam on. She wants the recipe but I think giving her the recipe could be strategic error as she may no longer come and visit me.

That moment when you've had a satisfying meal and need to recover on the sofa watching Blue Planet 2, listening to the dulcet tones of David Attenborough.

    Green vegetables!

Did you really eat them or were they just stacked there for the photo?

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that this Goldenfry gravy powder is better than Bisto...

We had liver tonight and after frying it up a bit with bacon and onions, I braised it away in gravy.

Look how thick that gravy is!

I remember years ago there was an Irish bar across the road from the Orchard Hotel in Singapore, that did a great liver and mash in an onion gravy.

    Well, this was better!

But no Orchard Towers for dessert, of course.

    Once tasted never forgotten!

That liver and onions can stay were it firmly belongs in the 1970s.

    Are you homesick Mendy?
