    ^ One of my faves.

That one looks a bit off, mind.

The foundation of the sauce looks like it came from a packet.

A bit like Khao Soi, it needs to be done slowly with fresh ingredients, typically started in the early morning and then frustratingly just sold out when you arrive at lunch time.

Bet it was still tasty though. A great dish.

^ That green stuff is cabbage Armo, in case you were wondering!

Dirk, we had mince and tatties every single Saturday lunchtime as I grew up, followed by rice pudding.

I love it, but have never seen it without peas? That's a bit weird if you ask me.

Btw, what's the stuff at 11 O'clock, between the mince and the tatties? Is that white pudding?

(And 11 O'clock ain't a time, it's how we ROV/inspection types locate damage on a pipeline... just keeping Dirk focused)

Yes well obviously the green would have been scraped off.

My Grandma cooked it with corned beef and called it stew from the war. I look into cooking it in Thailand but the cost of Corned Beef is horrific.

To be fair, I put peas in mine.

    It's skirlie, and it's at 11 O'clock cos I rotated it there.

In fact, I had to bite my tongue and eat the cabbage first, cos I simply cannot accept this clear division, the barrier, a wall even, between my mince and my tatties.

    Lang may yer lum reek...

And you 3 bozos slagged off my perfectly cooked topside?

Mince isn't fucking meat....it's sphincter muscle, japs eye and foreskin that you 3 wallopers were raised on.

Small wonder you ended up in Thailand with an appetite for more

It's a sad state of affairs but youve gotta respect the target audience on here I guess, to gain any kudos

My dinner is tofu with a pineapple salsa, roast potatoes, and cauliflower. A bit of ketchup on the potatoes.

You know the the ketchup is laden in sugar and ruins the weight watchers meal you’re eating?

Please don't include me in that. I didn't slag off your 'topside'. I thought it was a nice bit of ham.

I've never seen anyone cook toad in the hole with peas before. That's a bit weird, to be honest.

I like peas, but they have their place.

While we're on the sausage and pea theme, we had Italian the other night.

Korat Chef Chorizo sausages with garlic mash... and peas.

I found this 'Pesto' sauce stuff in Makro the other day and had been wondering when to use it. It's not something that I'm at all familiar with.

It made a nice change from ketchup.

Despite appearances, this meal was surprisingly un-dry, and we'll be having this again!

I think a portion of ratatouille will be in order next time.

Interesting Mendy. I have never seen pesto used as a condiment. Once in a while I do cook up a bunch of Pesto Pasta though. Photo ripped from the net.

I like to push boundaries in the kitchen mate!

To be honest, I can't really remember if the pesto sauce improved the experience or not.

Whaat, the taste of pesto is hard to ignore. Pesto pasta is the best, ao. Pesto on salmon is lovely.

Looks great, Mendip. I've been eating more peas lately, it was a veggie I never really ate much of before.
