Looks good, I keep meaning to make some corned beef. I used to make pastrami quite often and it was better than anything I got in the shops, which was probably reflective of the cost that went in.

Everyone should give pastrami a go.

One of my favorites, done exactly the way I like it. with cabbage and potatoes.
I can eat it all day with a nice Dijon mustard. The Remainer sandwiches ,and corned beef breakfast with eggs and home fries.

Sandwiches for sure! I just may have to do a corned beef hash in the morning.

Works for me, but I would have onions, mushrooms and beansprouts in there too. Spring onion at least.

Smoked sausage works really well in a stir fry too, cut into discs and cooked until slightly crispy. Brings a great flavour.

I wish I could get Mattheson's Smoked Sausages here. Jumbo sausage suppers.
    Lang may yer lum reek...

Aussie Ribeye for me last night.

Fried in garlic butter, of course, onions fried later and served with 2 eggs because I was test driving my new frying pan.

Looks good, American breakfast style. I'd have gone for a sauce and some veggies.

I don't need the sauce because it's all fried in garlic butter.

As for veggies, all I have is this wee red onions and we're confined to the house with covid. I would normally add mushrooms.

I'm sure you'll appreciate this, from today's Guardian, part of a review of Cafe 52 in Aberdeen by their food critic, Grace Dent:

"One of the very lovely servers squeezed me in ever so politely as a table for one and left me listening to 'Since you've been gone' by Rainbow while trying to choose between the marinated herring with soured cream and walnuts and the portobello mushrooms cooked in cider. Could this really be the same controversial cafe? I popped to the ladies to wash my hands and found it freshly painted, a spotless sink, delightful hand soap and a large framed photograph of Mother Teresa bearing the words “Always wash your minge”. Yes, this must be the place."

Good find PAG, that place is down on the Green, I know of it and it's history, but I've never been in.

I'll take my old dear in next time I'm home.

    Not bad for a tenner!
Medium rare sirloin, 15 chips , peas, peppercorn gravy and washed down with a pint of Corona.

I doubt that. That bottle of rotgut brandy you drink every night makes anything taste good.
