That looks excellent, Stumpy. Perhaps you need a separate smaller plate for your sides.

They do look very good, except for the kidney part. Brace for some sticker-shock when you buy lamb now, I see you paid about 380 Baht per kg for that leg last year and you'll wish you'd have bought more for the freezer at that price too!
Could have just written cooked perfectly instead.
Excellent food Stumpy. Is that a knob of butter on the potato?
Inspired by Stumpy's beef, though as the only meat eater in the house, can't justify a joint, so pulled this out of the fridge. Anyone any experience of Bangkok Bob's produce?
Looks reasonably marbled.
Knocked up an Asian marinade of Soy Sauce, balsamic vinegar, grated garlic, sesame oil, and lemon juice. A few hours in the fridge while I think of what's going with it.

Doesn't get much more English than that, looks great.
I was lucky enough to be invited into a friend's home for Iftar (the sunset meal when Muslims break the fast) with his family a couple of nights ago and what a spread his wife and daughters put on.
There are a couple of classic from the region: bamia, baba ghanoush, which was the best I've ever had by far, and mahshi (BB will know it as dolma- stuffed vine leaves, stuffed peppers and also stuffed potatoes). There was one thing that I'd never eaten before and that was called kolkas (basically a yam curry). I'm gonna try and dig that recipe out and give it a go because it was new to me and was right up my soi. Obviously, there's also a whole chicken, some salad stuff and mounds of flatbread too.
Then it was tea and dessert.
That's kunafa (knafeh) and some kind of fried sweet dough. I wasn't keen on the sweet dough, but the kunafa was tasty. I usually prefer it with cream though.
All in all it was a great night with some really good food.

That looks amazing Hal, better than anything you'd get in a local restaurant I'm sure.
You'll never go wrong with the grilled meats, which are ten a penny, but if you're ever fortunate enough to get invited into somebody's home for mum's cooking, you've gotta snap their hands off, haven't you?
It was a lovely evening with his family, at a special time of year for them and, for me, experiences like this are why I travel and try to do as much of this as possible when given the opportunity.
Pickles, gherkins, olives..it's all fukkin chronic indigestion
There's more meat in a KFC 3 piece set
In fact that looks like a 3 piece set I n the middle
Looks like their gravy too with pickles dropped in
