Perhaps if Germany had paid its fair of share of NATO the last 70 years we would not have this crisis at all.

Here’s what veterans, other U.S. citizens or anyone else interested in helping out, need to know.

    • Apply to the Embassy of Ukraine in your country with the intention of joining the Foreign Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine (ask a military diplomat or consul for details). Applicants can visit the Embassy in person, call or send an email to start the process.
    • Get your documents in order. This includes an ID, a passport to travel abroad, documents confirming military service or work with law enforcement agencies and participation in combat.
    • Arrive at the embassy with documents for an interview with the defense attaché and the settlement of any visa issues with the consul.
    • Write an application for enlistment in the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for military service under a contract on a voluntary basis. (This is in addition to Step 1.)
    • Receive instructions on how to arrive in Ukraine and what to bring. Military clothing, equipment, helmet, body armor, combat gloves, tactical glasses, belts and vests are recommended. “It is not obligatory,” the official said, “but a foreign soldier in his national uniform looks good for the International Legion.”
    • Go to Ukraine in an organized manner. Representatives of Ukrainian embassies, consulates (abroad) and Territorial Defense in Ukraine will provide assistance on the way. Contacts will be provided at the Embassy of Ukraine in your country.

Want to go fight for Ukraine? Here’s what to do.

Have you guys heard of the Russian soldiers being captured in Ukraine?
They thought that they where there for a military exercise, which of course makes sense because Pig Face Putin is saying that it is not a war or and invasion but an operation.

Poor Russian Slobs! Sitting at the border for months and now not knowing what the fuck to do. Za Zdarovje !

You really have to feel sorry for the Russians. They are being lead by a demented dictator.

I don't think anything Liz says or thinks warrants any sort of return comment or retribution. Holy cow, the fool she made of herself- best thing since that infamous Sarah Palin interview.

"The veteran Russian official is said to have turned to Truss and asked whether London recognizes Moscow’s sovereignty over the regions of Rostov and Voronezh, where large troop movements are said to have taken place in recent days, close to the Ukrainian border.

Russia's Lavrov unhappy after talks with UK's Truss

After a moment’s contemplation, the British diplomat reportedly replied that the UK “will never recognize Russia’s sovereignty over these regions.” The interaction is said to have spurred Deborah Bronnert, the UK’s ambassador to Moscow, to swoop in and quietly remind her colleague that the two are actually considered Russian territory even by her own government.
Later in the day, Truss explained that she initially thought Lavrov was talking about a part of Ukraine and that she had subsequently made it clear that these regions are in fact part of Russia."

    Hardly worth the nuclear option.

Video from John Oliver of Putin's embarrassing "press conference". He looks like a very unhealthy, fat c u n t, Hoohoo will be so disappointed.

Starts at 4'51" but it's worth watching from the beginning.

    Exaggerating much ?

Around a 1000 russian vehichles destroyed scattered over most of Eastern Ukraine, which between friends could be as big as 300.000 square kilometers.

So 1 per 300 sq. km.

    Get your point though

I reckon they would make a difference.

Bsnub would serve a superb Borsjtj in the mess tent and while the hungry troopers rested, Harry could keep the fort by stunning the russian trenshes with screams of his usual mantra:

    A call for sensibel Moderation

Ow No Rovne/Rowne now Rivne close to Polish/ Belarus corner, It was a lovely stetl under Poland many Jewish amilies pre Hitler, our friends the Bernsteins were from there and poet Amos Oz.

While Putin's stock can hardly lower in West Rivne nuclear station may be a handy tool for the errant rogue.

Why waste me and materiel dropping tactical nukes , when you can pretend the damage and resulting toxic cloud 1000km west of Chernobyl was an accident to the controlled press at home.

I imagine the meteorologists have been asked to wait for a few days of easterly winds

Here's a fallout map only used to illustrate approx distance from the site. Of course all aerial fallout depends on winds.
Yes I know it's not an exact science and my model uses Mexican asteriod as a gauge for illustration, we know Chernobyl and Fukushma fallout crossed entire continents/Oceans

    Ukraine war mega thread-riven-fallout-model-jpg

With eastelries the left side of 500km perimeter circle the dark bits "could " receive unhealthy levels to those who inhale certainlt to those within immediate areas or long exposure like rescue workers.

The larger cirlce could reach Newfoundland , but thankfully leaves the Okanagan vinyards, Soi Cowboy and Lanna untouched. Even places that might benefit from demolition like Baltimore, Manchester and Toronto should escape

I do not suggest this likely however depleted uranium and or toxic waste nuclear or others like burning oil refineries are very bad for air quality f the weak and vulnerable .

It would be wise to close all such plants until hostilities end but that of course would me denial of power to vast numbers. Of course even closed plants are hazardous but with moderation (of the nuclear type) will be safer.

Yes. Punta del Este & Montevideo, 1990. Easily reached from Buenos Aires- just a ferry across the Plata, and a bus ride. Great steaks etc for serious carnivores, elegantly clad women just like BA- but minus it's grand European architecture and wide Boulevards. Punta, well lovely beach but a bit like the Gold Coast really- kinda sterile. You're welcome. I have never set foot in Ukraine though. Looking forward to 'arry & snubbys report from the front lines.

There was talk of the Russians bring their cremation lorries in,
They're gonna need 'em. I'm still a bit gobsmacked that Russia's self declared 'limited military operation' in Ukraine involved storming the Capitol, among other things. It is of course, an invasion.

You mean when the Russians invaded Czechoslovakia and Hungary and murdered thousands of civilains?
Ignoring your trademark sulky petulance, I was born in the UK in 1960 and grew up in an era when the 'Iron Curtain' meant exactly that. I had no idea, for example, that Prague and Budapest were among the grandest, most beautiful cities in Europe, or that Yugoslavia was such an intricate and delicate patchwork of ethnicities. My impression of a Russian was no different to that of someone from eastern Europe- basically a plump, unattractive peasant lady dressed in shabby clothes, invariably with a scarf on her head, hauling a potato sack! The Iron Curtain was sound, light and time proof. What you thought you knew about the other side, was what you were told.

    ^Noticed a bit earlier.

I was a subscriber. Paid dutifully every month, six bucks I think. Rarely watched Sorry that it's been de-listed. I didn't find them any more biased than say, CNN. I hope Al Jazeera isn't next. I hate it when governments start treating their citizens like schoolchildren.

So who would rather have nuclear war than Ukraine not join NATO still ?

I think we could settle for Ukraine not being in NATO and not being in the Russian NATO , rather than destroy humanity. But hey ,that's just me.

RT is the biggest news network on the Internet.

All of Western media will be booted out of Russia. Career reporters who've lived in Moscow for 20 years will be out. BBC, gone.

Ok so Putin has lost his mind. And he's in control of the biggest nuclear arsenal in the world right now. Do we write on a piece of paper that Ukraine won't join NATO ? Or just end humanity instead ?

    Yawn. Here we go again.

    It's Ukraine's choice. Not the USA's, and not Putin's.

Putin made the choice that risks nuclear war.

And when this is over you will still be considered an idiot.
