^^^^ Wind your fuking neck in you child, you and the other two idiots have been glorifying Putin since the start. If i had my way i'd drop you into one of those apartment blocks in Kyiv and make you wait it out whilst your friends are buzzing missiles at you or wait for your Chechen heroes to hunt you out. You are an entitled moron bitching at life being unfair, Sab is supposedly ex Mil and so i can only assume he had an easy ride in the Barrel and never got anywhere near seeing people die in theatre, civilian or military.

Piss n vinegar mike! This war could and should have been avoided. Reap what you have sown.

"An avoidable crisis that was predictable, actually predicted, willfully precipitated, but easily resolved by the application of common sense, writes Jack Matlock, the [second] last U.S. ambassador to the U.S.S.R."

I agree. But think of it this way. We don't have that last 10% of information that the Russian security council has. I think they are just destroying military assets around the country. The electricity , internet and cellphone service still works across Ukraine. This stuff allegedly going on in downtown Kiev is mostly fiction.

If I was in Kiev, I'd be online like I am now. The city isn't being run over. The internet still works. The Russian military is just going around the outskirts destroying Nato weapons.

What about it? It came after Putin put his troops on the border. An invasion like this takes more than a couple weeks to plan. Putin was going in anyway, NATO knew it, so gave them weapons. I call that smart, and I call you dumb.

From the footage I've seen, those NATO weapons are doing a fair bit of destroying as well.

Russia isn't fighting to subjugate Ukraine. It is fighting to prevent the US from subjugating Ukraine.

It is clear that certain elements in the US (also UK & Nato) want to draw this out into a prolonged, bloody conflict. I hope they don't succeed, and I find it appalling that human lives are being used as cannon fodder for somebody elses stupid geopolitical game. A losing game at that.

This is likely to stop the further expansion of Nato- that is good. This is likely to put a halt to the militarization of Ukraine (after the Peace deal)- good also. Ukraine will become neutral, or quite probably rift in two between the Russian east and demi-Polish west. US/western hegemonic ambitions have been dealt a severe blow- good. And the casualty count is surprisingly low at this point- the contrast to US style 'shock n awe' could not be more extreme.

My fear is that by rapidly channeling arms to Ukraine, Russia will be drawn into a more prolonged, bloody conflict and will resort to more extreme military measures. I have no question Putin would resort to this, if required. So I am hoping for a fairly quick resolution when the leaders of Ukraine and Russia get their heads together.

    Blah blah blah

The Ukrainians are fighting for their freedom and the right to choose their own path. I hope they kill enough Russians to make the Russian people decide their own path to freedom as well, and eventually string Putin up on a lamp post and beat him like a human pinata.

If you were in Kyiv as a male over 18 you'd be pressed into the resistance, but of course your strong beliefs and superior perspective would win over either the Ukrainians or the Chechen squads, either way you'd be dandy.

Its not clear, unless you are one Russian who is drawing his country into a conflict it doesn't want, will kill countless innocent civilians and military in a country that has not in anyway threatened Russia and will further isolate and set his country back decades.

    EDIT

I feel as sad for the Russian people as i do the Ukrainians - neither deserve Putin.

Another of Putins buddies is jumping ship. Lukashenko must be regretting his decision by now.

Hungary will support all European Union sanctions against Russia and will not block anything, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Saturday, speaking on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border."Hungary made clear that we support all the sanctions, so we will block nothing, so what the prime ministers of the European Union are able to agree, we accept it and we support it," he told reporters in English.

Russia isn't fighting to subjugate Ukraine.
It needs to make that clear then. I am afraid I don't really know what Russias game is at this point. Was invading the Capitol really necessary, unless he is looking to topple the government? There is a lot of ambiguity out there.
