Hmm. I think I know what you refer to. His rescue attempt of his son in law ?

    However:
Patton attracted controversy as military governor when it was noted that several former Nazi Party members continued to hold political posts in the region.[187] When responding to the press about the subject, Patton repeatedly compared Nazis to Democrats and Republicans in noting that most of the people with experience in infrastructure management had been compelled to join the party in the war, causing negative press stateside and angering Eisenhower.[193][194] On September 28, 1945, after a heated exchange with Eisenhower over his statements, Patton was relieved of his military governorship

This sort of thing worked well for Genghis Khan. He always used defeated folks as administrators and in other official capacities. Patton was probably right in hiring Nazis to get things organized.

They learned it from Churchill and the Brits. The English really hated the Afrikaners and sent them to the first concentration camps.

Many were but if we are defining Nazis as anyone in the German military or the 8.5 million Nazi party members, most had nothing to do with the death camps.

Comparing the Nazi party to Democrats or Republicans not the best choice of words George could have used but he was speaking a fact.

He was in charge of denazification.

Which didn't go well in the west and was the trigger of stuff taking place late sixties and onwards

Yes, I know that he was reprimanded already before end of war, and what for. That did not hamper to be reprimanded again. And perhaps it had only helped to that how he ended up few months later.

To be "a bot and an idiot" is for you not so difficult. After all, you read only "independent sources", don't you?

Shit that wasn't on my checklist of reasons to spend some time in Canada, China or Thailand.

Or on my list of reasons to spend some time in UK.

Or the Thai immigration form I was forced to complete before being allowed through BKK Immigration.

To be honest I was aware of the lack of Italian Opera houses, but the beaches and Wats made up for that loss.

    Yup, a good wonder.

I was surprised and suspect that within the next week we will figure out what prompted the withdrawal. I know it sounds nutso but I wonder if that private phone call between Biden and Putin didn't have something to do with it.

The news media on both sides are constantly overwhelming us with drama ridden bullshit.

What do you think of the quiet phone call idea Norton?

It just seemed the usual shadowboxing bullshit to me, a silly game that all the powers play. Were people seriously scared about an impending 'Russian invasion'? I mean, why- Europe is both Russia's biggest customer and largest foreign investor. Not to mention the small matter of the Nato alliance.

He was reprimanded for slapping two soldiers who had "battle fatigue". A rather major event in WW2 history actually.

I've never understand the American fascination with Patton, nobody else actually gives a shit about "old blood and guts."
