^So you think this in retaliation for the sanctions ?

    I'm not so sure.

Not normally the way the diplomatic game is played.

    I could be wrong.

Who's the aggressor has already been established.

Richard Sakwa , Eurasia specialist at the university of Kent believes the conflicts in the post-Soviet space are to be explained by the aggressive expansion of the Western, “Atlantic” model eastward. ”In his opinion, the culmination of this process has been the Ukrainian crisis, which has “created a new and irreparable line across the heart of the continent”

In response to the classic Russian question “Who’s to blame?” the author’s answer is unequivocal:the countries of the West,as a whole, and the USA and NATO,in particular.

They were invited by the Ukranian government.

Again, they were invited. Ask Klondyke if you want to know how that works out.

Seems like a fairly logical response actually. The Kerch Strait is Russian territory, not international waters, and Russia has every right to close it- especially to someone it doesn't like.

So Ukrainian squeals of outrage will be greeted by smiles in the Kremlin. If Russia really wanted to set the cat among the pigeons, they would start messing with the natural gas they supply, which Ukraine has enormous reliance upon as a transhipment point. Fortunately they have stopped short of that.

Isn't it wonderful to be invited by so many countries worldwide?
And in all that countries worldwide they have to fight not only for the security of the host but also for their own...

Do I remember correctly, if I say that the parlament in Georgia sent out an invite too.

    Wasn't that politely refused ?

Would it have been wise to accept ?

Cuba was invited to and had every right to host Russian nuclear ballistic missiles. How did that work out ? We were one Russian democratic vote away from the end of the world.

There was talk of Russia reopening it's Cuba bases in 2018. The only one holding the hardliners back from doing this again is Putin. Putin will eventually have to cave and we will have the Cuban missile crisis all over again. Because you know , Cuba has the right to host Russian nuclear ballistic missiles

Venezuela also has the sovereign right to host Russian nuclear ballistic missiles. It is hard to understand why Russia hasn't done this in both Cuba and Venezuela yet. If the US is crossing Russia's red lines in its neighborhood then Russia should do the same and turn up the heat in the US's neighborhood.

It will happen eventually. So far Russia just put in a military helicopter training center. No missiles yet.

Russian warship with cruise missiles docked in Havana. Ninety miles from Florida. Russian subs and ships are in the Gulf of Mexico from time to time as well as their aircraft flying over.
