The death penalty is a kindness to some of the twisted fuks getting about. They simply do not merit any further tenure on human existence.
The main problem is that society just does not have the stomach for it.
Too much anguished hand-wringing about whether we would be breaking some moral taboo.
I thought a workaround might be to put the sik fuks into medically induced coma to unwind their biological clocks in unconscious oblivion so the hand-wringers could sleep at night knowing that the process was reversible in the event of some DNA error (how ever vanishingly unlikely that is these days) even though we would only be doing it to dead set sik fuks who are bang to rights and don't even regret their actions.
^if you want to take part in the argument then try to engage your brain before logging in nevema.
The criminal apologists are the ones suffering from hand-wringing.
I thought their stance was more along the lines of ignorance (poor value system), than hand wringing Looper, but then we are discussing the execution of two stalwart citizens of Australia...meaningless loss in the bigger picture of things.Originally Posted by Looper

BTW, why are you continuing this discussion with these folks? Waste of time Looper. You should be well on about your daily flogging of your Russian lady and forget about this crap!
^I am stuck in freezing Canberra for the weekend due to last-minute weather-related flight cancellations so I have take out my frustrations in Speakers Corner.
This thread makes me so fucking sad.
The important issue is about how these 7 lifes was so fucked up they needed to trade in this business.
Once that illegal trade is removed and legal controlled trade is allowed I will be much happier.
No more loss of life and heaps of cash going towards schemes to help people.
The Indonesian people ?
According to a poll conducted by the Indo Barometer agency among 1,200 people last month, more than 84 per cent of those questioned were in favour of sentencing drug traffickers to death.
Allah says:
“O You who believe, intoxicants, gambling, and the altars of idols, and the games of chance are abominations of the devil; you shall avoid them , that you may succeed.”
Sure, there always are people who get a hard-on from executions...
Islam is not the only religion condemning intoxicants.
But, who of the 84% of 1200 were victims of Atlaoui or Gularte's crimes?
Looks to me the resentment stems to a large extend from government propaganda against the involvement of foreigners in the Indo dugs trade - as pointed out earlier by KW in the linked article.
Explains it all. Great arguments btw, can't green you as well. You had at least 5 posts that were greenable...get the ski's out?Originally Posted by Looper

Question to ask yourselves why is all the focus on Indonesia, when many other countries execute on a regular basis.
Between 1997 - 2014 only 27 were executed. .
New president first 100 days in office 6 with a possible 10 more.
I think you have answered it. The change in policy is startling.
In 2015 should we really be shooting healthy young men in the heart?
Young men who have committed no violent crime and had already spent 10 years in a third world jail for the same crime they were murdered for.
What are you doing on this thread nevema? You have not offered any opinion or point of view as far as I can see.Originally Posted by Neverna

sorry this is the easiest stats to find, its American stats of executions for 2014.
Execution List 2014 | Death Penalty Information Center
Here's a wiki page on capital punishment in Indonesia. It includes a list of the names, nationalities and crimes of those who have been executed. It also says that capital punishment in Indonesia is restricted to 16 crimes, which it lists.

So today in the local rag our Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has said its time to move on from the executions and rebuild Australia's relationship with Indonesia.
These two criminals have been dead for five fuking minutes and after all the shit the Government kicked up it's already time to move on.
Further more she said that the Diplomat withdrawn from Jakarta will be returning soon as there is many important issues to deal with Beyond the Executions.
So already its back to business.
Regards any Australians boycotting Bali the Indonesians simply say that it's a great idea.
They are sick and tired of the drunken Aussie chav scum polluting the Island.
Fair enough that huh. All quite fair responses.
Nothing changes though, the Aussies simply love the place and two druggies getting sent down simply will make zero difference regards Aussies visiting the Island.
The retard Chav Granny said she is ready to get it over and done with.
Won't be to long before she gets the one way ride.
Oh well, another class one drug smugglers down.
I would consider all Indonesian people victims if what is said about Atlaoui are true.
Serge Areski Atlaoui - France
The 51-year old was arrested in November 2005 and charged with possessing 138.6 kilogrammes of methamphetamine, 290 kilogrammes of ketamine and 316 drums of precursor at a drug-making factory in Tangerang.
Is there realy a shortage of welders in Indonesia ?
He didn't know what was going on in the factory ?
How much money was he making at this factory ? Did he have a working permit ?Atlaoui, from Metz, east of Paris, has always maintained his innocence, saying he was only paid to maintain machines in the factory where the drugs were found.
"He was abused. We have always said that he was welding machines in a factory producing acrylic," his lawyer, Richard Sedillot, told French newspaper La Croix.
Or is he maybe responsible for the making of thousands of kilos of drugs. Therefore responsible for the addiction of hundreds of young Indonesian ?
Meaning: Indonesians = Victims
