Apparently this is how the executions will take place:

They are due to be shot by human beings. A group of special police officers will tie each prisoner to a post in dark nightfall, just before midnight. A colleague will shine a torch onto the prisoner’s heart.

Another group of police officers will line up and fire at the target. Only some of the officers will have live ammunition, others will fire blanks so that they don’t have to face the moral consequence of guilt and blame, of knowing who fired the fatal shots.

it isn't time they are doing though it's the end of life.
Bloody ridiculous that in this enlightened age that we execute folks who have done nothing more than try to turn a buck, if the were holding folks down and forceably injecting them with addictive substances it would be a different matter, the worst thing that these poor soles have done is avoid paying tax.

Sky News Australia reports that the Australian consul general, Majell Hind, is on Nusa Kambangan.

Following the executions, she will take custody of the bodies of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, and bring them back from the island, after which they will be moved to West Jakarta.

The consul general will then meet the families and inform them officially. The families will then also travel to West Jakarta.

The Jakarta Post is reporting that eight prisoners were executed tonight, but that Mary Jane Veloso won a last-minute reprieve.

    RI executes 8 drug convicts

Defying intense pressure from the international community, the government executed eight death row prisoners early on Wednesday on Nusakambangan prison island near Cilacap in Central Java.

"We've carried out the executions," said an Attorney General’s Office (AGO) official, talking to the press on condition of anonymity.

The eight were Indonesian Zainal Abidin, Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, Brazilian Rodrigo Gularte, Nigerians Sylvester Obiekwe Nwolise, Raheem Agbaje Salami and Okwudili Oyatanze, Ghanaian Martin Anderson.

Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso of the Philippines was spared after a woman who allegedly recruited her to act as a drug courier gave himself up to police in the Philippines on Tuesday.

AGO spokesman Tony Spontana said the government had agreed to the final requests fielded by two Australian death-row convicts for their bodies to be flown to Australia for burial.

A Cilacap Police officer said that after the executions, prayers were said for each person according to their respective religion. "The executions went well, without any disruptions," he said.

The AGO stated that the executions had been carried out after it had heard all eight convicts’ final requests.

The execution was the second round after the first was carried out on Jan. 18, during which six inmates from Indonesia, the Netherlands, Brazil, Nigeria, Vietnam and Malawi were killed by firing squad.

Such sickening violence and for no good reason. Asians are just so cruel and heartless when it comes to inflicting pain and death.

    Immigrant trash.
Australia could regain international respect by posthumously deporting the bodies they will soon receive..

brutal for sure but they knew the risk and maybe a few kids have been spared
getting involved with nightmare heroin addiction.
which can also end in death.
with grieving families having to live with that also.
    cruel world it is.

The things that sicken me are :

...that they were not importing it into Indonesia, but passing through ( look at the availability of heroin in Indon..it's easy to get).
....They were dobbed in by the Australian police.
.....They GENUINELY rehabilitated themselves, and actively helped quite a few other prisoners.
...That Indonesia had ample opportunity to save face, name it a special case and give a reprieve.
...And the way the whole thing was conducted so dramatically.
...Not to mention the (alleged, but we know that in all likelihood it was true) disgusting corruption with the judges asking for money.

Somtamslap is on the money....the Indonesian "government" is more childish and corrupt than in Thailand.

International human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson said previously that Australia should cut off aid to Indonesia and give the $600 million to earthquake-ravaged Nepal if the executions proceed.

    I agree wholeheartedly.

Yep, nothing like Americans, for instance. And the British would never have done that in the past, eh?

I fail to see what all the fuss is about these low life drug smuggling scum bags got exactly what they deserved, they knew the laws, and thought they were above the law, I hate drugs and all who use them to make money and cause untold damage to many millions of people.

Saudi Arabia executes second Indonesian maid in one week
By Kathy Quiano and Hilary Whiteman, CNN
    Updated 0705 GMT (1405 HKT) April 17, 2015

(CNN)Saudi Arabia has executed a second Indonesian maid despite protests from Jakarta, which is itself facing fierce criticism for its failure to heed calls for clemency for a number of foreigners on death row.

The Indonesian government summoned the Saudi ambassador to the foreign ministry on Thursday after learning that 37-year-old Karni Bt. Medi Tarsim had been beheaded, without official warning.

Karni was sentenced to death in March 2013 for killing her employer's four-year-old child. She was the second Indonesian domestic worker executed by the Saudis this week, following the death of Siti Zaenab Bt. Duhri Rupa on Tuesday -- the execution again carried out with Indonesian officials receiving no prior warning.

As is Australia's right. As is Indonesia's right to make and enforce their laws.

Doubt Aus will take muchaction. All diplo-bluster. Recall their ambassador not really going to change much or hurt Indo,

What do you call the deaths of 500,000 people in Africa a year from Malaria? An accident?

Fuk'en liberals can't get a handle on reality.
