    Yep comprehensive win.

No argument from me, I also believe the Ashes are as good as gone.

    That's 11-9 since 1977.

Not as comprehensive as some like to believe.

Fascinating to see a team who were top of the world 12 months ago get taken apart by a poor Aussie team with a star bowler who is average at best. What next for England? A Lancaster style clear-out?

^ Very gracious of you marmite

Well done Australia. A great team win.

Joe Root played well for the poms, and I expect he will be around for quite a few years.

    Roll on Perth...

    Well that's 2 up.....................easy as pie.

On to Perth which will suit the bowlers and the toss winner will certainly hold the ace card.

    I disagree LT

The team with a fast bowler will hold the ace card..... provided he doesn't lose confidence between now abd then, which is possible with him.....

Don't fogrt to say the Ashes will return to their rightful home, that always gives us a giggle....

I did too, I was watching the Seahawks come a cropper at Candlestick and by the time it was cricket o clock the game was over.

Good to see prior get some runs.

Sadly though this rubber is dead already which is a shame as I really thought it was gonna be full of thrills.

    For Betty......

England have not won at the WACA in 30 years, but still, a good side doesn't go to shit overnight and this Aussie side has plenty of weak spots...

They don't but anyone who is honest could see the warning signs during the recent series at home. (not that we were going to admit it here.....)

England's top order batting failed in that series and has got worse here.

Cook didn't fire, Root would have been a total failure without the 180 at Lords, Trott failed and has now gone and and KP was below par.

The runs shouldn't be coming from number 5.

Prior couldn't buy a run until yesterday which was one positive.

Here they have been worse with 50% of the wickets having been given away by poor shots selection. Don't get me wrong, I know poor shot selection can come from the pressure exerted by good tight bowling but some of them have been dire. Root first innings in Adelaide, Cook second innings in Adelaide are brainless ways of getting out.

England are screwed mentally at this time, something Australia didn't really allow themselves to become when they were being beaten 3-0 last summer.

They were good test matches. These are not.

I have been surprised how inaffective the England bowling attack has been especially Broad and Anderson.

Both great bowlers but seem to lack the fire and penetration that they had in the previous ashes series.

And Bob, Mitchel seems to have turned the corner and grown up.

Not the pie chucker anymore and far more disciplined.

In fact the Aussie side look a lot more like a team with the spirit and the togetherness that was lacking before.

ENGLAND LOOK LIKE A TEAM OF STRANGERS.

The Aussie reputation seems to be very apt... They are even worse winners than the are losers; both on the field and in the forum.

As a team, they have outplayed us in both games and deserved both wins by some distance.

They look like they are both about to cry; me too...

England have put themselves into the worst possible position here, going to the WACA on the back of two solid thrashings that have almost no positives for either their batsmen or bowlers.

Cook should swap places with Root, he must be in a frail place by now and facing the opening ball on the stinking hot WACA pitch is not the place to be looking for form.
All the batsman should be told the hook shot is firmly off the menu, which is unfortunate because if in form it would come in very handy in Perth.

Aust have on standby Bollinger and a new guy Coulter-Nile who as well as having a two Dad name is genuinely quick (90mph +) and handy with the bat.

The hook shot is an excellent defence/attack against bowlers like MJ.

Problem is you dont bladdy use them in the second over, the plank.

^ Yes..... but of all the cricket strokes the Hook is the one that needs the batsman to be 100% confident as the consequences of error are dire, out or knocked out..
Not too many confident batsmen in this lot.

It's not over till the fat lady sings.

Perth is by no means in the bag, and Australia need to keep their foot on England's throat.

We will not go to Perth feeling complacent. We have learned from recent years not to take anything for granted, and there will still be a fear of things going horribly wrong until the job is completed.

Let's not forget that 2-2 means the poms keep the urn.

Australia need to win in Perth, but if the match is drawn, momentum can swing England's way.

I don't expect England to play 3 bad tests in a row.

There are a number of reasons why I will not feel content until we have won 3 tests.

    - the weather

    - the possibility that at some point Cook, Bell, Root and KP will click in the same innings

    - the possibility that one of our trademark top order collapses is not saved by Clarke, Haddin, Johnson, Harris, etc

    - the possibility that our best bowlers get injured ( this has happened quite often)

    - dumb luck going England's way or against us.

Whilst very happy with today's win I am not getting carried away just yet.
