There was some debate among the English media that he was going to drop out of the test side and only play ODI's Bob and that discussion took place just after the 5th test.

Obviously he has been overlooked or retired from all forms of the game.

This squad was announced 6 weeks ago.

So any debate by whoever after the fifth test is superfluous and as a result not interesting at all.

You just looking for a Kevy [sic] story that doesn't exist.

(And yes I know he played a couple after that but that was because they were overseas and England didn't want to bring extra players over as he was there)
He said he would retire from tests too. Think he was told he must play all 3 formats or none.

This article from Aug. 2012 has him committing to all three..

    He never retired from tests.

He had to show his commitment to all forms after his Strauss indiscretion but in reality he won't be playing in ODI's and T 20 going forward.

There has been no debate since the fifth test about him being dropped from the ODI squad for these games seeing as the squad was picked in early December.

Not exactly, but suggested he would - which was the beginning of The KP Drama episode 1 ( or was it 2?)

Kevin Pietersen unreservedly committed his future to England, just days after dropping a bombshell by suggesting that the third and final Test against South Africa might be his last.

He suggested it or the media added 2 and 2 and got 6 as they usually do when discussing Pietersen.

The constant lies about him are a joke at the moment.

Finally we agree on something Bob.

By the way Bob, the Doug Walters' stand site was mentioned on numerous occasions during the SCG test and was the meeting point for the Barmy Army.

Are you still going to claim it never existed?

I wish CA would shitcan these fucking "welcome to the land" ceremonies.
    Bloody patronizing.
Original welcome to the land ceremony involved spears and throwing clubs iirc.

Who says there is no Doug Walters stand?

I never did. I said it existed, you claimed it was around earlier than I recalled. My polite question seemed to send him mental.

As you can see.... Post 4 where I clearly talk about being in the Doug Walters Stand.

I politely questioned whether it was there in the Seventies when LT claimed it was. I was surprised that he had a stand named after him when he was a player.

The Doug Walters stand I sat in was over half of the hill, was an elevated stand with a terrace below.

LT goes all mental after that and turned it into a shit fest, and now makes claims that I said it never existed.

    He clearly can't read.

So Necron as you seem to know..... When was the Doug Walters stand built?

I genuinely feel sorry for him. He reminds of a Japanese proverb " the nail that sticks out, will be hammered down". Along with not being 'a real Pom' he is very outspoken and refuses to conform to the establishment . It's no secret that he has ruffled a lot of feathers in the ECB and this is why they are quick to point the finger at him.

He's even being blamed for Cook's field placings in the ashes series! And besides being their highest run scorer ( I think ) the focus is being aimed at him for his poor shot selection. With guys like Root and Carberry scoring at a run rate that would make Boycott look like a T20 pro at the other end, it's no wonder he swung the blade at times when he shouldn't have ( or shouldn't of - for Betty )

Too bad he didn't migrate to Australia as a young lad - he would have fitted in much better in the Oz set up

Well opened in 85, demolished in 2007 and replaced with the new Victor Trumper stand.
Dougie now has a bar in that stand named after him. Very apt really.

By the way in that thread I show I was right but LT just plays troll and ignores the evidence that the dW stand was built in 1985 and did have a sign on it that he again denies.

Exactly what I said and remembered. Idiot face claims it was there in 1973 when he worked there. Now he constantly claims I said it never existed, something that the thread clearly refutes. He drops it in at regular times thinking he's being funny, it makes me laugh but not for the reason he intends.....

Agreed. That's one side of Aus cricket I don't like - the patronizing bullshit that goes along with it.

I met poolcleaner on my last trip to BKK and he said that was the reason he started his 'stupid Aussie ' thread over on ajarn.

Joe Root thinks he's still playing test cricket. A strike rate of 15 after 19 balls

Mate the truth is out there and LT has been proved wrong although I never doubted about the 'unofficial DW' stand that may have been around when he played because of his cult like status.

LT just refuses to accept the clear facts and now tries to claim I said it never existed. I've ignored it time and time again along with several other of his other pathetic jibes, but now it the time to point out how full of shit he is sometimes.

Agreed, and that was never doubted for a second, but the hill was the hill.

The Doug Walters stand was a proper stand and was built in 1985. I sat in it for cricket and rules in 1987/89
