You do live and eat well JP, but I notice from your regular pics that you never have a sauce with your steak.

Do you not find it a bit dry and, dare I say, a bit boring?

When I cook steak, which isn't often, I always make a blue cheese sauce and would ask for a sauce in a restaurant (in the absence of beans, obviously ).

A good steak doesn’t need a sauce. But sometimes a sauce is nice.

here’s one for the beans boys

Honestly Hal, I really prefer a "naked steak" if you will. It never gets old or boring. Because I cook medium rare to medium, the juices from the steak are the sauce to me. I will say a few times I have had mushrooms with a gravy sauce over a T Bone but not that often. I always felt a great cut of beef stands alone.

Additionally with a good Prime Rib a horseradish add is quite delicious but Prime Rib is a rare find in these parts.

Yes, horseradish I can see. And the juices as well.

The steaks he takes pictures of and claims to be rib eyes are not rib eyes. Just some cheap cut he gets in the bargain bin.

Next time post up a picture taken before cooking. When I see HW's and Stumpy's steaks I see wonderful marbling. I have only seen yours cooked, and in all honesty they dont look like the other steaks.

To be fair most of his micro pics of food he posts are not his cooking these days. He buys the daily specials at the pub. It's an improvement.

Joe no marbling = shoe leather. Okay rare, medium or well done is up to the diner. But the quality of the steak rules all. As you have said, "You cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear".

But you can still add gravy to sow's ear and call it prime Aberdeen Angus Rib eye 28 day matured.

Gravy does tend to hide a poor quality cut IMHO.

Of that there is no doubt. A good steak stands on its own. Salt, pepper and a rubbing with oil is all that's needed.

Exactly, you can't polish a turn, but you can roll it in glitter.

Well not picking on ol Chez Chitty, but anytime he mentions a ribeye and in the same sentence says "Chips" I immediately think of Sizzler.....

^If he does this to a pork chop, I really don't want to see how he'd go with a decent steak

What's got the colonials all upset, you'd think Joe had committed a crime rather than feed his family on a budget.
