    Yes you are. It is a waste of money to buy quality steaks and cook them to shoe leather. The flavor cooks out of them, and that is an undeniable fact. The beef Chitty buys are all cheap cuts he gets in the bargain bin.

    There is a reason why many high-end steakhouses won't cook a steak past medium. If you can't accept that, you should not be eating steak. Cook a roast.

    Couldn't agree more, I simply could not cook a decent steak past medium knowing the flavour, tenderness, and juiciness that I paid for was being ruined. Disagree with your advice to cook a roast instead though (unless you mean pork or chicken) because roast beef should never be taken past medium either!

    I appreciate that David. We all like what we like. My wife just bought a few bottles of red Rosso wine from Australia. I uncorked it for her and she poured a glass and asked me to try. One sip and done. Just doesn't do it for me at all. Sad really being my parents live in the heart of one of the premier wine places on the planet.

    And they have paper thin cuts torched. No flavor at all. That why they give a load of sauces to cover up the over done meat.

    In snubs defense, it is very true that when you have an extremely nice cut of meat if you overcook it, you ruin the flavor. It tastes like nothing. You just chew it. However I guess with you UK folks you do not care because you have those watery beans all over the plate.... ...

    As opposed to flour? Is this an attempt to thicken up that watery sauce that just oozes all over the plate so that everything tastes like beans.
