I made this little beauty tonight...Peppered pork loin, button mushrooms, courgettes, sliced garlic, fresh green peppercorns.
    Bit out of focus!

    Nearly forgot, chips and peas.

For tonights ensemble we have a nice bit of gai yang seasoned in lemongrass grilled to perfection I got 6 large drumsticks out the Co-op reduced price £1.50p this was one pack , I also put 3 packs in the freezer at that price

    Raw prawns with glass noodles

Nice bit of stir fried rice with all chopped up odds and sods of remaing veg in fridge .

All in all a delicious meal and relatively cheap mabe around £4 for the two of us ,, not cooked by me though

Here's my latest....I apologize for the blurry pictures in advance

    Glumpki (Cabbage Rolls)

First get some ground pork, season it up with whatever you like and stick it in the fridge the night before.

Early the next afternoon, get the sauce going. I start with the standard mer qua (equal parts of celery, carrots, and onions) along with bell pepper, roughly chopped, garlic, salt, pepper, bay leaf and two cans of tomato sauce along with one can of water. Bring this to a boil and then let simmer.

Bring it to a boil and then let it simmer until the peppery smell of the celery becomes fragrant. On my stove it took about 2 hours.

Then blitz it up and add some cream, wooster and I like a bit of soy sauce to taste.

Then steam the cabbage, pull apart the leaves and wrap your pork. I love wrapping my pork.

Drop the rolls in the sauce and then bring the sauce back up to a boil and then simmer for about an hour.

Plate up and you be done.

It would have made "intriguing" if it involved some beetroot and if the rolls hadn't fallen apart.

Maybe put the rolls in a collander and submerge in the sauce, or a plastic net....interesting...

    Beetroot sucks...

The rolls didn't fall apart, it's just a shitty picture for the presentation. We chopped up the extra lettuce and threw that into the pot as well.

    Nigel,

Italian food is renowned for its goodness. You will have a ball, if you are a foodie.

I heard that - starter - salad - primo - pasta - secundo - fish - third - meat - last- pudding. They also take three hours to eat. With wine and grappa.

And why not, appreciate the food, take the time to eat. It's not a one hour lunch break.

That is why life is so slow in Mediteranean countries. Be careful the shops are shut from perhaps midday till four. Everyone siestas.

Do not diss Italian food. Best a in di worlda....
