When I was back in the UK for a week last month I escaped from the family in the south west and drove up to Brum to meet a mate of mine from HK who had moved back. We had a few beverages, and then went to ALL the lap dancing joints in Birmingham. The end result, both of us being asia expats for a number of years, was highly disappointing. We just couldn't understand the point of it all. We could, years ago, and recognised ourselves in the face of the young lads running out to find cash point machines, but these days we are more learned. Interesting point to make... in some of them the drinks are cheaper than in the wankie "trendy" bars of broad street.

Thinking of a roast bell pepper, baked or fried chicken breast, on top of pasta with some garlic, pesto and basil and oregano stirred in. And a side salad I suppose.

Sounds just on the threshold of how lazy I'm feeling and the minimum energy I'm willing to expend.

    Roast bell pepper was delish.

So delish that the it got the sweet tooth going and the whole lot was finished off with a Cadbury's Caramel.

Nothing much. Bit of veg quickly thrown onto the plate with some generic salad cream.

Looks nice CM Lovely colour on the chicken, and I agree - Roasted bell peppers are delicious!

Where did you get the plates? I may treat myself to a few.

It'll be another pizza for me tonight, I just about have the energy to type after the weekend!

Odd enough Big C or Tesco about 6 months ago. Walked in and they had a display table with different types of ceramics and had those big, flat square plates, so bought two. Bit odd, but different. With the rims they're good for things like roasts that have lots of items and lots of gravy. Don't think I've seen them since though.

With the corners they're also good for lifting the plate up and pouring the remaining gravy and bits directly into your mouth.

Minimizes the time spent plate licking.
