^I'll say. Best spuds on the thread yet.
Getting really creative today.
Instead of baked salmon and mixed vege it's...

...baked salmon and broccoli.
Don't listen to aging one Dick. He's aging ! :)
Gravy is for old people who need to soften their food so the dentures can process it.
The most important thing on a plate/table is what ?

My dentures need a beer and gravy :) :)
Schweinehaxe at Beerbrewery, it was delicious.
Nah, he's right... gravy is preferable... was tired after slaving over my slow-cooker all day.
Mrs Worx wanted chicken and veg tonight, she had hers with rice but I'm going easy on the carbs lately and had toast with breakfast today. Having said that, a few of Toslti's roast spuds on the side would have seen all bets off on that front.

Really like these McCormick spices, so a combo of the pair was rubbed on the chicken before it hit the oven.

And as the gravy debate has raised it's head again, here's the same shot but the way I like it:

It's just Bisto Chicken Gravy but fuck it's good :)
is like.....pork cutlets? I agree, the bone while increasing the cost increases the flavor exponentially....Quote:

That looks great HW! I find McCormick spices tend not to turn to rock as quickly as other brands as well.
Creative today ???? Clean your pots & pans and start cooking :)

Their spices are spot on and extremely affordable.
Beef steak for me this evening.
Nev's sirloin surprise...
Boil up some sprouts.

When they are nearly done, add a cob of corn to warm though.

Grab a lump of Aussie beef.
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2016/08/1109.jpg
Cook it a bit.

Shrug off forgetting to buy some potatoes and extract some leftover rice from the fridge.

Stir it around the pan a bit, letting it soak up the flavours from the cooked steak.
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2016/08/1112.jpg
Throw it all together on a plate whilst reminding oneself that it's the taste that counts.

Verdict: The steak was surprisingly good. Sprouts a touch undercooked. Fried rice, not bad for a first effort. Corn, OK.
The steak looks perfect....however ....Quote:

WHY ??????
The corn wasn't in the water for long. It was already cooked so just needed heating up. It didn't taste of sprouts.
The steak was almost perfect (cooked slightly more than I intended). It was the best sirloin steak I've had in Thailand and possibly the best sirloin I have ever eaten. I'm not usually a fan of sirloin but it was really very good.
Why sprouts? I like them. I hadn't had them for a while so I bought some. I might have some more tomorrow with my lamb chops!
The corn looks a bit anemic. Should have fed it some of the sprouts:)
Nice dinner
The corn was the "Khon-Kaen-sticky-corn" variety, according to the woman in the market, and there was an element of "sticky rice" to the texture.
Thanks. I was trying out a new stove and a new pan (it was all cooked in the one pan) and it came out much better than I expected.
I reckon were gonna need a separate thread just for spuds? After tosltis effort, Spuds aren't boring. Come on you fookers show us what you can do with the humble spud? There must be a million things you can do with them. Besides jamming one up geff or strollers bum. But let's not go there eh:):)
