^Love the garlic bread, man
My neigbour caught 7 mackerel this morning and gave me two, so I'll post a pic of the fishy feast I'll be knocking up later
Tonight I made a minestrone. We've been having cold, grey, rainy weather for so long that it's nice and warming.
Ingredients:
1 Can tomatoes
1 Can chick peas
2 Cups vegetable broth
Onion, Garlic, Carrots & Celery
Seasoning,
basil, oregano, thyme,
a touch of smoked paprika

^You'd slow roast a leg of lamb with roast potatoes for main and the soup would be a starter or side dish. Any meat in a minestrone soup would make it too heavy
Late breakfast

ok point taken. some of those chips look a bit aneamic mind![]()
Those chips could have been better, I'm using corn oil which clearly hasn't been the best choice. Changing to rapeseed oil now.
DJ. Looks far better than the last two pics.
The fried egg looks good, not sure about the Spam though!
I use spam for carbonara rather than bacon (which I hate) and had a little leftover. I didn't eat that whole plate though, left most of the chips, beans and half the spam.
Here's my fresh mackerel for tomorrow, just gutted them.

That rice looks like it belongs under an all day heating lamp in the Watford Gap service area Pat.
Or is that where it originated from?

Those mackerel look nice Pat.
Half basmati/long grain done in the rice cooker with tablespoon of tumeric and 4 cloves. Gives it the colour & classic Indian flavour. Don't forget to remove the cloves when cooked.
The curry has got potato with peppers.
Those mackerels will get filleted & de-finned tomorrow when I get some Stanley knife blades! Then soaked for an hour in teriyaki sauce and grilled.
Tonight's dinner. Chicken drumsticks and thighs coated in hot and spicy shake-and-bake then into the oven for about 45 mins. They came out looking like this.
Then onto a plate joining mashed potatoe with chopped spring onions thru it, steamed beans tossed in extra virgin olive oil (love that peppery taste), and some chicken gravy with minced garlic added to keep the "where's the sauce" lynch mob at bay. It went down well, but who doesn't like chicken with mash and gravy?. Mrs Worx even got in on the act and hoovered up a plate full

Looks like a nice cold weather chow down.
Maybe some cornbread on the side to mop up with.
but beans all falling off the plate.
Red sent.
You'd still have to use your hands to eat that chicken!
^Absolutely, but that's the best part of eating chicken on the bone at home while using a beach towel for a serviette.
^^At no stage during the taking of that photo did any beans fall off the plate. Christ all mighty, the gravy police are happy now but here comes the HS and E department![]()
Ain't them peas??
I would think they are mange tout, and the tatties are a Northern Irish speciality called champ.
