For me, a rich and creamy tomato and basil soup, along with the last of the previous batch of baguettes, chopped and turned into parmesan croutons.

and for M'Sahib, a leek and potato soup with a couple of the bread rolls I made the other day. She garnished it with a solitary crouton .

Far from it. I make the croutons quite crispy, whereas she prefers the 'dunking' quality of bread rolls. However, she eats the croutons like biscuits as I've just discovered that the airtight box I was keeping them in is empty!

Something simple and easy, a cottage pie from the freezer, and a butter roll from yesterday's batch.

I don’t think I’ve graced this page with a lamb shank yet, and Mendy has the breakfast thread covered.

We went to a supposedly American style BBQ place today....soupy mac and cheese with pulled pork along with a plate of ribs. We won't be back.

Lunch ... the second course-17002961272363237961220501272063-jpg The wife knocked up this Lao rice dish which is my absolute favourite of all rice dishes. It's called nem khao and started of looking like a scotch egg, deep fried I got a bollocking for eating one with si racha . The end product is the rice strangely sour taste but bloody addictive spring onions and fried garlic and chili but not over powering. Apparently it gets the crispiness from the rice being deep fried in breadcrumbs first. .no meat in there at all but there should be if I had my way
    Simple and delicious

That looks excellent! A search produced this recipe, which I'll have a go at in the near future. I'll keep it veggie though so M'Sahib can partake.

The author shares my enthusiasm. I loved this in lao but had tottally forgotten about it much to my surprise her indoors produced it a few weeks ago and I was blown away how good it was. Today she made it again I'm.grinning like a large Alsatian. Always thought rice was kinda boring and just a filler for starvin marvins. But this stuff is the bollocks. Happy days

Was at a British pub for lunch and the kid loved the British style Butter Chicken. She gets more and more like Armstrong everyday.

What's the lazada shop for such jars etc. Expatfoods? BritShop? Sainsburis?

    Thank you kindly Cheds/Chedettes.

I always make my own curry sauces, though the Patak brand are supposed to be very good. You can get them on Lazada also: PATAKS Butter Chicken Cooking Sauce 450g | Lazada.co.th
