Tragic for those who think British food teh best they have neither afforded or eaten with grandmas anywhere in The Western Med,Atlantic Basque French seafood, Leb Syrian Turlish Cypriot Greek, Swiss and of course wonderful Thai Malay and Japanese delicacies.

As fodder and fat layer for cold miserable dawns at 11am in Thurso an Ukster fry , odd emergency pasty, Summer pud or Melton Mowbray Pies Eton Mess or good Stilton

To be honest however I would not give a jot if I never sampled English food again, Arbroath smokies, finnan fish be it kipper Salmon seafood etc Aberdeen Angus Welsh lava bread yes Irish stout yes .

Irish Stew in the name of Le Loi you lardy mancy lardbucket , if you go one like that you'll turn into an American like Blutosnubblebublleandsqueak

There is plenty of good food in Talinn Mexico and even ireland if you search and of course 5 star places in London if you spend 200 on Lunch ,interestingly they use French terms techniques and awarded Michelin Star, The Cheetham Hill cubs cooking badge don;t cut themus turd

    I can't stand it.
    Who put 10p in you?

I'm not much of a fan of cinnamon either to be honest.

    Or peas.

An English colleague around 15 years ago, Notts Forest born and bred, a team you can respect, advised that if yer not drinking beer, stick a stick of cinnamon and an overly ripe banana (skin on and chopped) into a pot of water and boil, drink warm before bed and you'll sleep like your team just won the European Cup twice in a row.

Today's effort was Bun Cha (Vietnamese meatballs which are flattened into small patties) from a batch I'd made a few days ago. They sat on some noodles which I'd topped with some lettuce and bean sprouts. Nuoc Cham, a Vietnamese dressing/sauce which is more like a broth, spooned over the top, and a garnish of fresh coriander.

A surprisingly quiet Phuket Immigration this morning for my annual Marriage visa extension. In at 0930 and all done and dusted by 1030. Time for an early We Cafe Lunch on the way home.

Nice food, shame about the beer.

    Fish rather frazzled.

After Immigration, beer was needed, but this was not fine dining, just a lunch in a good spot near to home. Salmon was (as always) good, the sauce poured over gave it the moisture needed. Couple of courses each, 3 beers for me and some healthy froth for M'Sahib, shared dessert of fruit, walking away with a 1600 baht tab, the stuff of dreams for folk in the UK.

I doubt Chitty has ever woke up in a wet bed, 35 quid poorer, remembering a budweiser in the sunlight,, single digit chips with rice, farmed salmon, 6 doritos and a shared fruit bowl.

    Happy Easter everyone!

I made the effort today and we had an Easter Sunday roast chicken.

And that brown arm on the left ain't the missus's after bulking up in the gym, that's the gardener's left arm.

The Kommandant has disappeared 'up country' for Songkran... she'd only planned on a couple of days but I persuaded her to go for longer!

    Forever would be good.

Anyway, her loss... and I have the daughter to meself!

Looks delicious, I would have sprinkled some roasted peanuts over the top as well!

Excellent knock up Mendy although I am concerned by the lack of a red to help it slip down ya gullet.

Armstrong, a toastie in the pool never fails.

Good effort PAG. I had my first ever Bun Cha last October, courtesy of Miss Saigon's home cooking

Lunch at the beach courtesy of the bruthas today

The sign actually says 'The earth is the Lord's and he gave it the peoples as a gift'. Doesn't sound very aboriginal rainbow serpent creation myth to me.

Whatever the business, they do a mean snag and onions is a real pro touch

Potato salad, guacamole, chicken chilli and a baked spud.

I will sign any petition for any political cause in exchange for a free lunch.

Meself and the daughter each had a quarter of a Korat Chef Pork and Branston Pickle Pie for Elevenses today, and then she fukked off to The Mall to meet up with some friends.

    Friends... I remember those days...

I enjoyed my Elevenses so much that I had a Korat Chef Lamb and Potato-topped Pie for my solitary lunch.

I believe that they call this a 'Floater' in Western Aussie, BLD would know.

Very different from a 'floater' in Somerset.

I have flour, marg and butter, and a big hunk of beef and six pig kidneys in the freezer.

I even have some Mont Clair to liven up the gravy.

    I just have no time.
