    Just some War Porn ... M777 towed howitzers.

    Mostly from the US, but Australia sent a heap over as well.

    French CAESAR 155mm Self-Propelled Howitzers ... looks like the 'truck' cops a fair bit of damage over the longer term judging by how much it bounces as the gun fires.

    From the 5 min mark they go on to demonstrate the differing shell/missiles options there are.

    I found that interesting.

    The level of cringe in the western media is just too much to take. Hence my absence from this thread.

    Russia is not sitting on its haunches licking its wounds. Rather than send troops against fortified positions, Russia continues to hit targets throughout Ukraine with precision missiles. The Russians are relying on artillery and air strikes to soften up Ukrainian defensive positions. Ukrainian troops are surrendering in significant numbers, especially those who were recently put into service and are not affiliated with the neo-Nazi mercenary forces.

    They are under no deadline. They are not going to send their military units into head on assaults and risk unnecessary casualties. And they are going to bomb Ukrainian units relentlessly until they surrender or are destroyed.

    Here is the activity reported on May 4:

    -Russia attacked railway substation in Pyatihatki with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked railway substation in Tymkove with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked railway substation in Volovets with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked railway substation in Lviv with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked railway substation in Pidbirtsi with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked military assets of the AFU near Protopopovka with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked military assets of the AFU near Novaya Dmitrovka with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked military assets of the AFU near Sandjeika with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked military assets of the AFU near Krysino with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked military assets of the AFU near Volnyansk with a high-precision missile;

    -Russia attacked military assets of the AFU near Novoalexandrovka with a high-precision missile

    Oh and what was it ,a month ago Russia was supposed to run out of missiles.

    Beware if your eyes are sensitive to light

    The gun has a range of 37,500 metres (23.3 mi), but this can be extended to 55,500 metres (34.5 mi) by using RAPs (Rocket Assisted Projectiles)

    Does that include Backspin? He seems convinced this is a computer game and expensive long range weapons are easy to replace and costly missiles can be found easily, in an industry on its knees.

    I hope he is allowed big boy pants soon. His childish invective is becoming ever more tiresome.

    That is not funny.

    155 is the NATO standard size shell, there was rumour of them being made available, they offer a good range but of course as the Russians have found with their heavy kit and static artilary they are vulnerable once target located. Ukraine has been highly sucessful operating shoulder launch arms which although they have to get close ( line of sight) they can do so in small units and melts away.

    Don't make it too obvious now...

    Zelensky is inviting Olaf Schloz (Chancellor of Germany) to Kyiv on May 9th. So let's put this straight. To undermine Russia's celebration of the day they defeated Nazi Germany, Ukraine will invite the leader of Germany there to send a message. Oh the irony.

    Nothing will unite the Russian people quite like that. Support for the war will approach 90% rather than the levels it is now.

    It seems that 9th May could be a busy day for world news.

    May 9th is Victory Day in Russia.
    President Biden will sign the lend-lease law for Ukraine on May 9.
    The UN Secretary General António Guterres will visit Moldova on May 9.
    Ukraine allegedly plans to strike the Crimean Bridge on May 9.

    The 155mm howitzer sent by the US has apparently been deployed in Ukraine.

    Talking of irony.

    The U.S. send heavy artillery to the Soviet Union to help defeat Hitler's Nazi Germany.

    The U.S. is again sending heavy artillery to the former Soviet Union (Ukraine) to help defeat PUTLER's Nazi Russia.

    Ohhh the irony on May 9th

    Speculation has been growing on Friday over the fate of the Admiral Makarov which Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko said on his Telegram account had been hit in a missile strike and burst into flames.

    Russian forces sent helicopters to rescue the crew of the ship, according to Ukrainian news site Dumskaya. The vessel was said to have been sailing close to Snake Island in the Black Sea.
    Has there been any further developments on this?

    I have seen no confirmation in the Western Press, only unconfirmed reports from Ukraine.

    I don't really agree with prolonging this war by the West. It will only lead to more death and destruction on both sides. It would be much better to find an exit route for Putin that allows him to withdraw to the pre-war boundaries.

    The war is now a proxy war for the West, trying to defeat Russia, or significantly weaken it, and the Ukrainian military is now just cannon fodder for the West.

    I think they are still busy covering up..

    «We looked at every burnt kid. I can't tell you how hard it was, but I couldn't find mine. There were only two hundred people, and there were more than five hundred on board the cruiser. Where were the others? We looked in Krasnodar, and everywhere else, we called every place, but we couldn't find him», Irina Shkrebets said.

    <<Over 500 crew on board, 200 in hospital, where are rest?>> Mother of missing conscript says truth about Moskva crew is being covered up

    Just a gentle reminder

    -"All dictators failed"
    -Ukraine decides when to give up and what concessions are to be made.
    -PUTLER said goodbye to the civilized world
    - last but not least....NEVER trust the Russia (Kremlin).

    Did Adolf become an exit route? No! Good!

    Why? Will you go and fight?
    The war is between Russia and Ukraine. There are no defense treaties with Ukraine - and NATO membership isn't an issue. Going 'all-in' is quite the bravado and invites at the very least an onslaught of Russian missiles on European cities . . . and limited nukes the worse it gets for Putin. Why do you want to see millions of civilians dead?

    "for the west"? They are being armed by the west to battle Putin's murderers - would you prefer the Russian armed forces to simply glide over Ukraine and decimate everything/one in its way without resistance?

    Bizarre.
