Here's my Wish list-

• Nato stop expanding
• Nato stick to it's actual defence mandate
• Ukraine stay neutral
• Germany foot more of it's own defense bill

The last one is happening, the third seems likely - the rest are a 'we will see'.
I do not think Nato has been a force for good in the current century- quite the opposite.

I can't. NATO already refused Ukraine entry, and they did not (regrettably) supply Ukraine with heavy western military equipment. If the Ukrainians had A10s, F16s and M1 battle tanks this war would have been over the result would have been a resounding Russian defeat.

Are you kidding? Here is a news clip of how well-trained the Ukrainians are thanks to the US, at the end of the clip a soldier talks mentions he was working in Poland when the war started. He came home to fight because his family lived in Donbas until the Russian backed invasion and insurgency.

Just going around in circles again. Following the Maidan revolution 2014, the Parliament of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea called a Referendum- which overwhelmingly voted to secede. Why would the Russians need to invade a place where they had 6 or 7 military bases- including the Black Sea Fleet HQ in Sevastopol- already there? And the folk of Crimea are considerably more affluent than Ukraine, plus have avoided all of the Ukr bullshit- why on earth would they change their mind? Whistlin' dixie david.

Crimea is strategically important because it controls the oil/gas fields which could supply Ukraine with much needed foreign currency and income.

Sure, in a perfect world, everything returns to, as it was, but the World is not perfect and compromises have to be made.

On the fifth of April 2022, hundreds of Ukrainian soldier conduct mass surrenders at Mariupol



In this pictures you can see hundreds of marines from what’s left of the the 503rd battalion (assigned to the 36th Marine Corps) chose life and surrendered to the Russians.
Earlier, their commander, Pavel Sbitov, a native of Lviv who had been fighting against the people of Donbass since 2015, was killed.
503rd are not the only one that surrender to the Russians and DPR forces, 501st battalion also surrender to the Russians




Other news is that In Mariupol, at a meeting of deputies of various levels remaining in the city, a new mayor was nominated.

And they turned to the Head of the DPR Denish Pushilin with a request to approve it.

Also, at the meeting of community leaders, they recognized the referendum of 2014 on independence, which took place on the territory of the Donetsk region.
