Which part? The Chinese influence? The Indian influence? The naive Tru-anon wokesters? The Albertan oil and gas pseudo Trumpers? The Quebecois? The first past the post voting system that let's a party with less than half the vote form a majority Gov't?

It's a quagmire best avoided by sensible Europeans. 😀

And the Inuit issues, Gretski's grandchildren, Seagrams Crown Royal and why the hell the sensible US americans always present themselves as canadians when you meet them traveling around the world.

I'll bow to Pickels greater longevity on the forum.

    Go ahead Sir.

Maybe Phuket Bound, or YD, or whomever.

Well they certainly wouldn't love this place, unless everything was in French as well as English.
And wouldn't you get sick of all the Free Quebec and poutine threads?

I defer to Norton and his greater longevity, in life and on the forum. And the fact that he is from Moose Jaw.

Why? It's an English-language forum. You don't know any Quebecois, so you.

Nope . . . too many China bad, Russia bad, west bad, US bad threads to balance it out

You've obviously a soft spot for Canada Panama. This is noted.

It's an interesting thing that many Canadians report when travelling that they love New Zealand but can't stand Australia mainly because they feel that Aussies are too much like Americans. So go figure.

    I like both groups.

Why do you say "as well as English"? English on business signs and traffic signs in Quebec is illegal.

I believe that's incorrect as the company I work with has both French and English in their business signage.

As for traffic signs, most of them are pictograms to obviate the requirement for words . . . and are street signs in the rest of Canada in French as well? Nope.

I just checked that and the law has been changed, but French has to be much bigger. It's been a while since I've been to Quebec. Are you volunteering to start the TD Canada thread?

Nice try, tovarish, but I'd trust some of the other posters to come up with a better Canada thread than Skidmark - and it hasn't anything to do with your 24/7/365 link to all things politics. If I want a one-sided anti-western rant thread you or OhNo would be the choice.

I'll contribute . . . nothing much I dislike about the place . . . especially as it was a great sanity dash when I was working in the US (and loads of brilliant memories of when I was a child)

Please do start one . . . if our resident Canadians could provide a bit of first-hand knowledge - excellent

I think we can be confidant in choosing the latter.

Of course things can always go "terribly wrong" because of a small mistake and then can escalate out of control in a very small measure of time.
When to orient himself in the huge flow of the information and disinformation, perhaps first to use a common sense: Who permanently accusing, sanctioning, expelling, liberating, ordering to scrap projects in favor of theirs, etc, you name it?

And that all whilst distributing their bases worldwide, browsing with their superships and superaircrafts the world waters...

And what's the rhetoric of their leaders, how susceptible are to sit down and talk? There are many records of their declarations and open talks (with and w/o teleprompter), just to consider it with the common sense (Bauernverstand)...

    For start here is one:

I don't have the time or energy to do a thread.

You say you don't want socal to do one, but as much as he's wrong about almost everything, he's right about the issue of home ownership here, and that's probably the biggest issue in Canada other than covid at the moment.

This moving graph puts it into perspective:

I worked in Alberta for 6-7 years. There's lots of nazi Ukraines around there. One supervisor where I worked was rumored to have a Nazi shrine in his living room.

I'm sure he is - big immigration countries usually have ridiculously rising housing costs - numbers should have included Australia and New Zealand.
