Yeah, I really hate other people that I don’t know being successful too. It’s not like you have to watch any of those videos or that their lives impact yours in any possible way…

I'm with Joe on this. YouTube is utter shite.

Buuuuuut, if you ignore the diatribe they feed you and search around a bit then some good content can be found. But, the "influencers", the AI generated sports "highlights", the endless tech crap from folks on a circlejerk, so much crap (and, I think I've watched most of it, sadly... ).
    Cycling should be banned!!!

My new-ish, and very cute deaf buddy has a friend that was unwell, but recovered.

I had typed out 'I'm happy to hear' but coped on just before pressing send.

'I'm happy to hear', to a deaf person.

Tiz a crazy world, stay safe folks.

EVA Air are efficient and tend to be reliable but their food is usually inedible. With BA still not flying from Bkk nonstop flights to Blighty from here are limited now to EVA and TG. TG have really cut things to the bone in economy with poor catering, practically no alcohol and fewer staff.
Taking a layover is worth the hit in order to fly with Emirates, Qatar and Etihad, all still offering a quality service-the inflight catering and crew are usually top notch.

Indeed. And the lounges at the gulf airports will make the stopover a joy. Away from the shops, food outlets and the usual dross that mooch around airport malls, you will find excellent food, tons of space and the karseys are manned by teams of uniformed bobblehead and paki lickspittles that thoroughly wipe em down after every use.

The days of the Empire must have been wonderful.

I can't say I've ever seen toilets looking unclean at Qatar, Dubai or Abu Dhabi airports, but I concede you'll have spent a lot more time in them than me.

I passed through Abu Dhabi a couple of months back and all of the cleaners and a majority of security at the X-ray machines were French speaking folk from Africa

People in Dubai don't like The Flintstones, but people in Abu Dhabi do.

Abu Dhabi Corniche is very pleasant to walk/jog/cycle along at this time of year.

While I agree about TG going downhill, I still haven't found s decent alternative. I have no intention of going to ME, just fundamentally disagree with their barbaric ways. Besides, I don't like 3 flights in such a short period so prefer non-stop and then domestic to Udon.

I am considering a few days either in India or Singapore. A stopover in Bombay or New Delhi perhaps. Singapore sounds daft but wife has never been and SA are still very good. Pity they use 777 though, noisy and uncomfortable in economy.

Never been to India. Any tips?

I've been there 3 times, but many years ago.

I would say Mumbai and the south is your best bet.

Traffic & pollution has become a problem in many parts, though.

You can get a hydrofoil from Mumbai to Goa, I believe

    Thais would generally prefer Singapore.

Any sign of that Neo lad (previously It's rob's life)after he moved to Dubai as a high end mechanic and married a Filipino lass with big boobies?

I spent 8 months in India, mostly in Kashmir and Ladakh. The scenery was jawdroppingly beautiful, cleanliness was non existent and the persistence of the Indian trying to earn a few rupees was maddening.

Himachel Pradesh was a hash smokers paradise, Rajasthan was a splendid journey into the days of the Raj.

Delhi was terrific, and Varanasi was a disturbing and horrifying vision of hell on earth. It was time travel to the 15th century, surrounded by desolation, deprivation, disability, death, decay and human suffering on an industrial scale. Words cannot describe the sights, sounds and smells. It cannot be unseen and is life changing. Nothing can prepare you for it.

I would recommend India to anyone, but you need good accommodation, a steel lined stomach and a cold heart.

Now that's the sort of brutally honest review you wouldn't see in a Lonely Planet guide book.
