    It is called Kintsugi

NB. I once gave my son something similar to your broken mug except more bits and buried in a large block of clay. He is now an Archeologist.

I think the wife will have thrown out the Mesozoic mug by now. Also, she'll have no doubt purloined the handleless Palaeozoic and Cenozoic mugs to store her evil-smelling concoctions in the fridge and I'll have little chance of getting them back. I've re-ordered new ones now, anyway.

I had high hopes of my daughter being a vet but that looks increasingly unlikely. She's not showing all that much interest in geology either but I think that archeology may suit her well. I'll look into it.

Mine presented me a broken clay urn from Koh Kret with some superglue saying she made me a 3D jigsaw.

I've been in this hotel for work in Norway for nearly three weeks now and am walking around like a zombie. I get no sleep.

I have to work 10 hours a day and am knackered.

It just doesn't get dark and I'm awake by 3am every morning and can't get back to sleep. It's like trying to go to sleep sitting outside in the garden in a normal place in the middle of the afternoon. On top of that there's seagulls squawking every night, all night. They don't go to sleep either.

A young geo colleague came over from the UK this week to help out, and the great thing about these Millennials is that they don't seem to drink... he even goes to the gym in the evenings after work. I of course took advantage of this and got him to bring me over a bottle of duty free Highland Park. I was supposed to take it back to Thailand checked in and hidden, but now it's taking every fibre of my will power not to open it up and take a big slug to get to sleep. But a slippery slope, one slug leads to another and it's a busy day tomorrow...

Why? I thought you were on a daily rate. Surely going slower would be better?

^ You have to perform. That would maybe work for one trip but I wouldn't be asked back.

Get down the chemist and buy these..

    About diphenhydramine

It's known as a drowsy (sedating) antihistamine and is more likely to make you feel sleepy than other antihistamines.

£2 for a pack of 24 in the uk over the counter, when I was working varied shifts they were a life saver.

Btw if you drink after you've had one, it's like a scene from the wolf of wall street.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning that taking higher than recommended doses of the common over-the-counter (OTC) allergy medicine diphenhydramine (Benadryl) can lead to serious heart problems, seizures, coma, or even death.

ohno, your attempts at ‘lad’s banter’ should be in the ‘daily cringe’ thread.

7 days a week, why lose 4 days work over a month?

And I don't like unions tbh, they would probably force me to take days off. I'm only here for the work.

The chemist is closed by the time I finish work!

Anyway, I don't like taking tablets. And I resisted the temptation to open the Highland Park last night... but the bastard seagulls woke me 3:30am...

    Backspin
Its a Mitsubishi and is a 1980 model and yes it is a diesel.
Cost me B100,000 over 12 years ago and has done a power of work for me. Dug lots of stumps in paddies and leveled paddy banks also lots of drains.
Somewhere on here I believe I posted a stump I dug out with it that was bigger than it is, couldn't lift the fukker just pushed it around with the digger and our tractor working together.
I did spend B35,000 for rubber tracks but haven't touched the motor.
The electrics are nonexistent so the battery never gets charged while in the machine and to start it I short the starter motor.
No point in applying grease as the gaps at the joints are too large so it rattles and bangs.

Why do the local council provide only one Green wheelie bin per household.

Some houses have small or no gardens.

Some properties have larger gardens than others and require a bigger green stuff disposal method.

Empty and filled again today, now I have to wait another two weeks for it to be emptied again.

I actually pay for this service through my council tax.

Fvck it, I'm going to complain and see if I can get a second wheelie bin.

Some people with big families get two black wheelie bins so why not??

Steal a neighbour's bin. Fill it up, leave it outside their house on bin night.

    Problem solved.
