Thread: Improving the Teak Door

Great Forum, but strolling through the Wooden Door, found some rusty hinges, some things which both Admin and Members can contribute to improve.

Just wanted a thread to suggest what I've found, the problem and the potential solution.

Welcoming thoughts from all the members.

Was having a look through some of the suggested Live Cam links ... ALL DEAD ... well, the 4 or 5 I clicked on ... gave up after that.

The Admin can do their bit.

Could do with one of those livecams in Luigi's Manor on a weekend to see what those guys who left their BMW's on his drive get up to

Give us a simple to use pic posting system and just watch the place flourish.

That simple to use pic uploader will not be so much fun when you accidentally click that saucy snap of your Missus bent over the balcony.

Agree with the comment about the cumbersome pic posting uploading.

Pragmatic, sure, I can probably upload pics if I went back to the instructions on the 'How to' everytime ... but TBH ... I can't be assed.

I've got heaps of media to upload, but currently, that's in the too hard basket.

ALL the other forums I participate in have a simple, 'One Button' upload.

It will improve when the multinicking idiots are banned.

Less chance of people like Daffodil deleting all their photo albums in a drunken hissy-fit if they are hotlinked from another site.

Getting posters to upload on other sites is an ingenious safety catch that helps minimize the risk of the drunken, angry, oafs causing problems.

Agreed its a simple upgrade. I put up a few food photos just by cutting and pasting, but no longer do travel, or any other kind of photo thread as I just cant be bothered.

Its a simple upgrade that admin simply wont do. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.

Or, en lieu update the general operational software, making it easier to navigate.....faster response to commands, etc.

An upgraded gallery/photo system seems to be the most practical and popular choices of changes/updating on a board that thrives [or use to anyway] on pic/image threads........which seem to have diminished greatly for one reason or another.

The TD gallery uploading/downloading/embedding/storage operations is not terribly complicated.....but is quite antiquated and probably too much procedure mechanics for many to be bothered with.

I think the forum post display is set up wrong.

It make more sense, and easier reading when you click a thread and see the newest post, and it showing at the top of the page, not the opening post- especially in long and old thread.

This should be the default setup

Isn't this thread in the category of a suggestion box? Aren't they generally set up by management? Where is anybody who could implement any of the suggestions? I'm not trying to put down some very good design ideas but without someone who can expertly implement these ideas, it's like blowing into the wind. In other words, if you find someone who first wants to volunteer his time and work for free, second, was a professional software/Web developer and had a career in the industry during which he was well paid over a number of years, what is going to be his motivation?

Alternatively, you can hope the current staff will take bull by the horns.

They did say they would do it (nearly 2 years ago). They just didn't give a timeline.
