well, the mods seem to have made a start.
the babelaas/robertson avalanche of hatred thread has disappeared.
I thought it was supposed to be currency also, when I first joined. Alas, it is what it is: to show everybody how popular you are. You'll not believe it, unless you've already seen it, but a particular poster, to remain unnamed, periodically posts the top 15 posters, by reputation, here: https://teakdoor.com/members-only/284...ml#post3258850 (Show us your Repo points and the comments)Originally Posted by StevenR

A poster doesn't generate his/her own repo. Other posters send it - positive or negative.
It certainly isn't currency - I've been trying to trade points for a toaster oven for years.
So making repo a currency is an idea. I don't what it could buy. If you offered something like bitcoins there would be a huge influx of newbs.Originally Posted by Davis Knowlton

I have a question for you Steven, is this your first forum?Originally Posted by StevenR
Bitcoins are real money that can be exchanged for things on the black market of the Web (called the Dark Web or Deep Web) where you can literally buy anything. I'll give you one example: arms.Originally Posted by Davis Knowlton
First of all, you really need a company that exchanges bitcoins (buys and sells) in their own country's currency. In Thailand there is a company called https://coins.co.th/ It is a perfectly legitimate business. You set up an account online and get a 'wallet' to keep the bitcoins in. Coins.co.th also provides wallets.
So you have to buy bit coins before you can buy anything else on the deep dark Web. Coins.co.th provides a few different ways to do this (all legal). The kind I use is called the ATM method. I place an order online and the web site tells me I have an hour to complete the order. Coins.co.th also gives me an account # and routing #. BKK bank is across the street and I also have an account there. I withdraw THB from the ATM in front of the bank then go to one of the tellers and give her the company name (coins.co.th), routing and account nos. and the Thai baht I withdrew (there are fees to both the Bangkok bank and coins.co.th). She electronically transfers the THB to coins.co.th and I go back to my computer and tell them I completed the transaction. After awhile, the bitcoins show up in my wallet (at whatever exchange rate is current at that time and it changes minute by minute).
That's about it.

Steven yesterday I wanted to green you. I also wanted to send a message to Cujo to calm down. I thought he was being too tough on you. I had seen him go through the same thing with a new poster named Onree. He posted up worrying about a possible aspirin overdose to his child. Onree was a paramedic that tried to rip him to shreds. Including accusations of being a bad parent. Well it soon became apparent that Onree was a lunatic and a sock for Smeg who is currently melting down as Steam while in jail as Smeg. I would guess our gracious mods have simply miserabled Onree.
But now I see so many holes in your whole OP. I in fact you may in fact be the infamous Onree.
You know too much technical forum bullshit to be a nice guy golfer who lucked into a job in Chaing Mai.

^^Interesting. Thanks.
I'm crap at identifying smegs but I'm starting to wonder now.I did send him one because I thought he was getting an unduly hard time. I apologize to everyone for my stupidity.Steven yesterday I wanted to green you.
With the history that TD has, it's obvious that StephenR is a [trolling] multinic that we all know - much too comfortable readily for a "newbie" and subtle references and quips are a general indication.
Just sayin' like....

( you need to wash your coins before you use them for real anonymity ) - and do not store them in an online wallet - too many online exchanges vanish
the blockchain is being touted as the "next big thing " and the arguments do hold a fair bit of weight and some of the visions are very good
you can read this book - Blockchain Revolution - Tapscott, Don
though I would watch a few youtube videos first if you are a veritable newcomer to this part of tech
search this on youtube if you want a start point - The real value of bitcoin and crypto currency technology - The Blockchain explained
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.
^Thanks. Too techie for me. Interesting, but I like cash.
^ Davis, that is also well beyond the scope of my knowledge.
No toaster, but a free shot of Yah Dong for two green blobs & half an hour with a goat of your choice for a gold cabbage.Originally Posted by Davis Knowlton

Why the fcuk does someone bother with repo. It's a forum just get on with it and turn yer repo off, job done.
'Longstayers' is an unusual word, isn't it. A quick search reveals that three people have used it on this forum: wefearourdespot (don't remember him), Mid and Smeg. That's quite a coincidence.Do you green reputation them who act meek and mild or entertain you and red reputation them who challenge the behaviour of your fellow longstayers?
btw, I am willing to be flown to Vietnam with two months expenses in order to start promoting TD and put up some travel, food, and Luigi'ing threads.![]()
