School holidays for two weeks so the littlest one and I (she is the only who wants to spend time with me, it seems) went to a newer mall near us, Tropicana Mall to go to Borders, Toys R Us, the big pet shop, rides etc....

At about ten thirty we sat down for a nice hot chocolate and some durian egg tarts!!!!

(The photo is of some durian egg tarts I bought for home and am eating now.

Seeing as we have boycotted Starbucks for years and years we went to the Bad Ass Cafe

I had to do some work so I took my Ersatz-Laptop with me . . . and had to check in to TeakDoor . . . I know . . . Loser . . .

(Yes . . three photos but since I started this thread I am allowed the odd transgression)

Enjoy while you can PH and cherish every moment of the time she is willing to give you. Mine worked hard to be the apple of my eye at that age, then was embarassed to be seen with me but now that she is all grown up at 30 now and married, she again looks to me for approval. No worries and no problems. Looking forward to the daughter and SIL's 30 day visit with wifey and I later this month.

been there and about several times. have had brunch at "Tavern on the Gree" there in Central Park. always a nice time. looks like nice weather.

It was beautiful, 78/26 and only light clouds. Spent the afternoon listening to music and talking to friends in the park.

Round the Island yacht race on Saturday. This is lunchtime outside the Royal Yacht Squadron on Cowes sea front. The race started at intervals from 5 am and most of the class 1 boats were already back by noon. Here you can see yachts on the last leg coming up the Solent from the East to cross the finish. There were more than 1,700 boats of all sizes taking part, many of them to raise money for charity. The brass cannons are ornamental, but can still be commissioned at short notice to bash the oiks if need be. Good day out and a good piss up too as the pubs were packed out.

Made a buttercreme cake for my birthday. My father used to make them and I follow the tradition. Didn't for a long time as people don't want those calory heavy treats nowadays but for my 60th no way I would not do one. And of course not with the new fat reduced recipies, it had to be real deal. Deeeelicious.
