Maldives? Beautiful . . . when did you take this shot? Must have been shortly after take-off or on approach to landing.

    Thumbs down Brown streak?

At the local Guardian . . . what seems like your typical washing-mitt has an unusual long brown streak on it . . . which may make the customer chose a different one, quite an unfortunate natural colouring:

Nedwalk looks a lot nicer bloke than Nawty does, no wonder he doesn't appear in shot.

As for the shirt, that's rather sober for Nawty as well.

I think Nawty was fast asleep on the bar.

Both nice blokes actually but I think Ned likes beer more than Nawty.

Not being picky Robuzo but how much does a meal like that cost in Japan these days?

My kids love Japanese food and eat it regularly and I have a pretty good idea what a meal like that would cost in Thailand.

Lunch is always your best bet for bargains in Tokyo- actually, that is probably true at the nicer joints here in BKK, too. 880 yen (about 310 baht) all-in for that, and the portions were really amazing. Friendly service too. The sea urchin was as fresh as it comes, no trace of bitterness.

If nobody minds I'll post a photo of an amazing sushi bargain I found near where I stayed in Shibamata (home of Tora-san). This was 550 yen at Ito-Yokado:

Some of the salmon roe spilled over on the way home, although the shop had put a couple of the red caviar on the bay scallops in the middle. Really fresh and good, under 200 baht (!). Dang, I am homesick already.

Not really. Twiddling with brightness is not the same as deleting or adding to the content.

If you send a film for developement and prints the lab did the same. Tweaking the print for good looks with slightly off exposure is standard in digital or analog. Photographes with their own lab did the same only more to their own taste or intent than the automatic standardization by labs.

PS is just like the old days of dodging and burning. I have even taken things out. I had a great picture of an old building in New Orleans. The only problem was a satellite dish on the roof. 15 minutes later it was gone.

My cameras do well enough that I don't have under expose. This isn't from this week, but I have no car today, so here is a picture from my last time in bkk. it was slide film.

    Reminds me of something.

My Filipino Brother in Law is a great artist. He had a beautiful pencil painting of the fishermens huts at a beach nearby. Including of course the TV-antennae.

I asked him if he could do the same painting again for me but omit the TV-antennae. He did it but without the slightes bit of understanding why.

Post a photo taken on any handphone, dslr, point and shoot , or any camera .

One photo per week which must be taken in the preceeding 7 days.

I'll start with this gem from Davao/Philippines taken on Sunday:

Yes, have to keep the establishment at a certain level of class . . . slippers, sandals and guns . . .
