The Jesus Jaag prayers were answered with a rare front row parking spot on a sunny sat'day for this arvos 4km beach run

Which earned me some coldies with some sand in my toes

I was seeing double by the end of my second bottle so I am obviously a lightweight

I thought I was seeing double again half an hour later but I rubbed my eyes and they were were fine

    What are you drinking today?-img_20230812_172807c-jpg

After a couple of beers I like to crank up AC/DC - Back In Black to bleed-your-ears volume on my headphones and silent-dance on the beach sitting down so small children give me strange looks

I think Jasmine deserved a drink after her sterling efforts and steamed up windows yesterday so I topped up her 6 year-old coolant leak. She is a thirsty girl these days.

Here endeth the day (after running back to the toilet block before my bladder burst)

^I hope these were all done using the same sacrificial bottle of Dom Perignon and you stoppered it in between cocktails, rather than defile multiple bottles.

I am something of a minor bubbles enthusiast so I am going to go full Stumpy on you here and declare that if I ever can afford a bottle of Dom I will not be mixing a drop of it with any contaminant or pollutant of any shade of the cocktail rainbow, but will be gargling and sniffing and venerating every thimbleful of this holy water with all the respect it deserves, like a Nouveau Sommelier.

No beer on the beach today...

A Monster energy drink to rehydrate after my 4km run, as I had to be on my best game for the Cebu Sorceress.

    Thumbs up

Day 4 on Hal's farewell tour of the greatest country on earth and my wife has just told me I knocked 13 pints back last night on the lash with Cy before she carried me to my room! I can't match Loops for scanty shenanigans but that must still score me some serious lad points!

Anyway, the trooper I am, we go again!

Arrival in the big smoke soon for a swift jar with nammers so communication may well be interrupted / unintelligible. I rather suspect both.

I think it is fair to say that one will be suitably satiated upon arrival in our suvvern abode!

Can you get chips and gravy this far souf though?

Of course. She’s down to one more mimosa in that 1st bottle. The 2nd bottle awaits, for the next set of mimosas.

I think you are trolling me Landreth.

I dream of the time I can maybe one day sip a single glass of DP and you are defiling it with your rainbow unicorn cocktails.

Jesus Jaag parking prayers answered again. Not as big a miracle on a Monday but still proof of God's existence.

    Not trolling you.

I don’t drink liquor any longer (except to taste) so it all taste bad to me and I don’t think you’re missing much.

BUT, if you ever do get ahold of a bottle and you have one of those many women visiting you, make her a pineapple mimosa.

Use a juicer and fresh pineapple and add a hint of lime.

    She’ll be a happier girl.

A Monster energy drink while waiting for the Dogging Diva of Darkest Harare

She rocked up with a fruit platter

Which offset the lardy artery-clogging offerings I slapped together for the nosh-up before the ladies footie semi-final

I offered to drive her to the nearest public convenience to see if we could recreate the unique and magical ambience of our seminal rendezvous but she reckoned the sofa in front of the TV was comfier

This evening I was sipping Suntory-196 Double Lemon on a floating canal-front pontoon.

    What are you drinking today?-img_20230816_191645-jpg

It is made from shochu, vodka, soda and lemons.

Shochu is a Japanese distilled beverage which is weaker than uisuki but stronger than sake.

This was an invitation to the palatial abode of an English Rose from London Town.

I thought she might have a pool (as these downtown canal properties often do) so I brought my swimmers just in case but she did not invite me to jump in.

I am sure Stumpy would approve of the cleanliness of London Lady's lavatoire

    What are you drinking today?-img_20230816_201234-jpg

I was hoping to watch Old England square off with the Matildas at her place to savour the ladies football in antipodean female company but she had childcare duties to attend to which curtailed our soiree.

^ Nice. That is a very local cider, Stretchy. Are you from down that way?

I have a very old colleague who lives in Kingsbury Episcopi, the home of Burrow Hill cider farm.

I've been off the booze weekdays for a while but I'm only human. The daughter went back to school today and during the holidays one of her classmates went to Japan for a holiday... and I'd jokingly said don't forget about my duty free. Much to my surprise her mum bought me a bottle of Japanese Whisky.

Then, when I dropped off another of her classmates - my Welsh mate's son - I went in for a coffee and came out with a bottle of Apricot Serbian Brandy. He was given it by a Russian client and didn't fancy it.

Just like a bus... now I'm spoilt for choice.

I thought I'd start with the Togouchi... surprisingly tolerable after the first nip. There's a lot to be said for building up your resistance to this kind of thing with Ya Dong.

    ^ No need!

Got the whole sofa, and the remote!

I've had my dinner and just can't stop wondering what rhat Serbian stuff tastes like...

My Welsh mate also had a bottle of 16 year old Glemmorangie that he's not interested in, yet he gave me this brandy.

It's great to have really good friends.
