Funny PAG, when I traveled to Livingston Scotland, we went to a pub downtown at night. They served these little cans of some Lager. It was warm but after 4 you felt no pain. It was awful warm but apparently a Scottish thing.

A refreshing Whiskey sour to end off the day.
^You have got a swankier bar spice-rack than the one in my kitchen Stumps
This 4 Pines Aussie Wheat Ale is not in the same class as the yermans which is a shame as there are some award winning Aussie wheat ales. But still a refreshing quaff after a bodgy-bike-bash around da 'hood
The massive Ark Royal has been countered by the entry of a 3rd Japanese carrier to the Imperial Japanese Kitchen Navy - The IJN Ryujo was a light carrier that was used to attack British merchant shipping in east Asia before HMS Illustrious rocked up to defend (seen astern pulling a Titanic on the beer-can with IJN Akagi and IJN Zuikaku to port and starboard respectively)
This sly coont did a bait and switch selling it to me advertised as the IJN Ryuho
which is 220m long - 40m longer than Ryujo!
Coont!
Prepping the Friday evening special.
The aficionados among us will spot dried peach flower petals, rose flowers, chamomile, safflower, lavender, a stick of cinnamon, ripped lime leaves, chopped fresh ginger and lemongrass, starting to brew in 4 liters of Evian's finest.
To be served post BBQ with One Champion live in Lumpinee at 19:30, with an après Friday night movie, yet to be chosen.
Su.....poib.![]()
^Looks very tasty, Edmond. What a mix!
I had a peach tea mix earlier, not homemade though.

Not the purpose of these thread idiots. Go attention whore elsewhere. Start a fucking herbal tea thread.
Nice.
With online shopping nowadays, there's really no need to go for the manufactured tea bags.
Get the pure organic dried flowers etc delivered to your door in 2-3 days, for what is probably cheaper.
Was video calling a friend from back home and mentioned I'd send over some chamomile when she went to the kitchen and pulled some out from lidl or aldi that she thought was 1 Euro a box.
Moving back would have one pro to it.
Sidenote. Just looked at the date. More than 2 months since I've bothered having any poisonous alcohol. Feeling as clean and fresh as a new pair of Calvin Klein undies.
When I first discovered Thailand in the 90s I (partly) remember drinking Sang Som from hotel mini-bars during my nights of debauchery.
Somehow, during this second 'life' in Korat I seem to have drifted into imbibing Hong Thong and the gardener's Ya Dong when I fancy that cheap Thai whiskey fix but tonight I scratched that old itch.

The forerunner of Sang Som was Mekhong.
Awful stuff.
Though I do miss the days when pharmacies sold 'krong tip' cigarettes and Mekhong Whisky.
Watson's isn't quite the same.![]()
^ watson's is rubbish. I couldn't even get any Aspirins today...
'No have...'
The Sang Som was OK I guess... I like to spoil meself on a Saturday night and it kind of dulled my tastebuds sufficiently for the following Mont Clair.
You're a bad influence Mendip. After a couple of Singhas to wet my whistle I took a stroll in the rain to the local shop. As I was treating the dog to some sausages, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a small sangsom bottle gentle calling my name. And here we are.
My wife hates it so I'm going to have to finish the bottle before she comes home tomorrow.
Haha! I totally agree, and it's a what are you drinking thread, not an alcohol only thread.
lol... the good ole Sangsom. I drank that a few times when I was in Thailand, the good old Ajarn party days. That stuff is strong, reminds me of a cheap Crown Royal. Good luck with the hangover, Mendy
I'm not sure where your friend is from, but loose tea is quite expensive here. I buy it occasionally. Kudos on two months alcohol free. It has been three months for me now.
One of my favourites in a European country with many a delightful beer to enjoy and none of that absolutely dreadful soap-suddy craft beer to be seen either.
There's a reason Europeans - the best beer brewers in the world - have been doing the same thing for hundreds of years.
The scenery aint three bad either.

Ladies and gentlemen the smallest TV in 2023
You're not there for the telly.
(I'd be surprised if it even works)
They have toilet paper on display in the bar.
That's no way to talk about Chesterfield.
I have never tasted any of these mysterious Thai whiskies and distilled concoctions, which I feel is a remiss missed opportunity while I was immersing myself in Thailand, but I would be curious bring some samples back when I line up another expedition and treat them to some syrupy mischief in my whisky laboratory.
