Fook.
Time for drinks.
As Smith nears his ton, some news from the bacon sarnies:
England are facing a possible TV blackout for their Test tour of [at]Pakistan in October with not a [at]single UK broadcaster having bid for the rights for the three-match series.
The Guardian has learned that a tender document issued last month by the Pakistan Cricket Board has not produced any interest from the UK, with none of the broadcasters even entering negotiations at this stage.
Excellent performance from Smith.
Top notch.
The no balls this week have been weird.
Well, England had to work for the win in the end.
Well done Sri Lanka for making a game of it after that disastrous start to their first innings.
Looking forward to the second test...
This all seems remarkably familiar. Eng struggling, losing regular wickets, Root can't find a partner but still posts 100. What a player.
It's only a few pages back I was having to defend Root's selection! He is such a great batsman to watch.
Good to see Atkinson keeping the tail wagging as well. England have the advantage after day 1.
Excellent century from Gus Atkinson, and at a run-a-ball as well. Out for 118 with England on 426/9
And I was thinking 350 would be a good score...
Two wickets down before lunch. Bodes well.
"The highest successful run chase at Lord's Cricket Ground is 344 runs, achieved by the West Indies 39 years ago."
Current lead: 333
It's day 3, there's plenty of time for England to have some fun. The pitch will get worse for batting as the days progress, the main reason why England chose not to enforce the follow-on.
Joe Root manages another century.
England all out at tea leaving SL an unlikely target of 483.
Pitch will mean a few wickets are likely to fall this evening.
He's back in form, he tried another scoop, can't seem to resist them. Another 24 runs he passes Sanga up to 6th and another 96 and he's past Cookie up to 5th. Should do that next Test.
No more reviews. Trying too hard to get in the bar?
Five for Atkinson plus his runs.... MOTM?
McCullum named as White Ball Head Coach as well as the test side.
Josh Hull will make his England debut in the third Test against Sri Lanka starting on Friday at The Oval, live on Sky Sports.
The 20-year-old Leicestershire seamer replaces Matt Potts as an option for England as they look to complete a 3-0 clean sweep in the series.
Hull was called into the squad ahead of the second Test against Sri Lanka after Mark Wood was injured in the first Test at Emirates Old Trafford, and now gets his chance in the final Test of the summer.

The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth
Poor old Lawrence, was struggling anyway.
One hopes, should the circumstance arrive, that there will be no hesitation in enforcing a follow on this time.
